41  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Journal cover on: September 27, 2010 10:58:27 PM
I posted this in the Teesha Moore stitch along thread.  This is my third journal cover - I've liked each one better than the one before!  This one will be flying to Florida to live with my sister.  Smiley  These are a lot of fun - I love the crazyness of them and I'm always picking up a little charm here or a card of buttons there with the thought that they'd be perfect for this kind of project. (Why else would someone buy a string of eight squirrel charms??  LOL)  Hope you like!
Here's the front...

and the back..... (the spine has antiquey bells and buttons running down the length.)

Thanks for looking!  Smiley
42  COOKING / Dessert / Hello My Delicious Cupcake! on: September 26, 2010 09:20:07 AM
I got this recipe off a pretty hilarious blog called The Cupcake Ninja.  http://thecupcakeninja.blogspot.com/  Nothing like the smell of pumpkin spice on a fall morning (even though its supposed to be 90 degrees today - ugh!)
Really delicious and they look pretty awesome too!  (If I do say so myself - haha!)  They are supposed to be for a dinner we are going to tonight, but of course I had to try a couple to make sure they were okay! Cheesy

43  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Wine Cork Bath Mat! on: July 19, 2010 10:03:55 AM
Here's a bath mat I did for the FOC Swap.  I'm not much of a drinker so I ordered wine corks online (proceeds went to a wildlife refuge) and sliced away! (All the corks are cut in half.)  I used this tutorial http://www.craftynest.com/2010/03/wine-cork-bath-mat/ but used a utility knife to cut and used silicone glue.  I'm not sure if this was a better choice than the hot glue in the tut - but it made more sense to me.  So here ya go - the fabulous wine cork bath mat! Cheesy

44  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / I'm in love with Mail Sacks! on: July 18, 2010 09:22:22 AM
I've made a few of these and really love how they turn out...perhaps it has something to do with my addiction to big roomy bags that I can put tons of stuff into - I made this one for the FOC swap and I was LOVING the fabric - maybe my favorite so far. Here is my daughter modeling for me.  Wink

and some close ups - pockets on the inside - ones a double & one's a zipper

I might have to go get some more of this fabric and make one for myself!  LOL!
45  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / FLASH the worm on: June 29, 2010 01:46:52 PM
This is a little worm I got off of edenkitty's wist - I made it for the Woodland Creature swap.  Never really thought about needle felting a flash drive before - but that's why I love swaps - always gives you new ideas!  So here ya go - its Flash the Worm.  Smiley

46  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Winona the Beaver on: June 29, 2010 01:40:59 PM
I made this beaver pillow for edenkitty in the Woodland Creature swap - and SHE named her Winona! Cheesy  EK is from the Pacific north west so I knew I wanted to do a beaver, just took me a while to figure out how the heck to go about it!  LOL!  Here she is, enjoying her new home - and a quick look at her lovely beaver tail.  Wink

47  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Boris the Tattooed StrongMan! on: June 18, 2010 07:32:01 AM
I sent this out a few weeks ago for the Be Awesome Swap.  He is inspired by Mimi Kirschner's tattooed dolls.  I drew up a pattern, dyed the toile and embroidered the face-he's about 18" tall, give or take.  Who doesn't need a big handsome man around the house.  Wink

48  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / The Other Mother Purse on: April 19, 2010 07:19:06 AM
I always feel a little weird posting swap projects - kind of like posting something that doesn't belong to me anymore - but I was so happy with how this turned out, and so happy my swap partner liked it that I just had to post!  This was for the Coraline swap.  It is a painting of "The Other Mother" that I then stitched onto a bag that I made.  The inside has bug fabric to go along with the theme.  Smiley  Thanks for having a look!

49  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Bird Charm Bracelet on: April 11, 2010 09:16:33 PM
I had to show off this beautiful bracelet I received in a swap with PirateColey!  She knows I'm a crazy bird lady and so made this especially for me!  And look at the sweeeeeet earrings that go along with it!  Beautiful work!
50  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Circular knitting needle case on: March 05, 2010 02:32:37 PM
-Not sure if this belongs here or in the knitting section....seems like this is the best place.  Wink
I made this for a friend who recently took up knitting again - she has fallen in love with circular needles and was looking at a roll in the knitting shop that was going for $85!!!!  WHAAAA?Huh?  I went off measurements fir a case I found online - but I lined the pockets, added a zipper pocket, quilted the front, added interfacing for a little more body, and added ties instead of snaps. There are pockets enough for 10 circular needles and then a few for scissors or regular needles although I found out the circular case dimensions don't really account for long needles....I don't think it will really be an issue for her.

It was much more time consuming than I had anticipated, but I'm happy with the outcome.  I chose the fabrics based on her LOVE of gardening - hope she likes it!  Smiley

Outside - all folded up

Inside - lotsa pockets!

zipper!!!!
