2253  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Dotees - Mini Art Dolls - Round 9 Send Out 4/19/10 on: April 26, 2010 04:07:50 PM
here we go - my dotee from MadGypsy!  I have to say - it freaked me out a little when I slid it out of the envelope - the weight and the texture gave it the feel of "the real thing"!  HAHA! I'm thinking his whole body is made of sculpy, then covered in feathers.  He has a stern look on his face so I have nick named him "the blue bird of seriousness".  Wink  Thanks Gypsy - great addition to my growing collection!

Great job everyone!!  I got mine from themuppet today too!!  This is too hilarious - on my list of "likes" I had fairytales and monsters.  Muppet's creative mind shifted into overdrive and this is the result - I now present.....Rapunzel-clops!  (applause applause applause!)  I am almost certain that there is no one else in the world with a Rapunzel-clops - haha - thanks so much muppet!  You did an amazing job!

She had 3 kids under 5 years of age when I drew this, so I think the expression is probably accurate.

Haha - that really gave me a chuckle - and what a GREAT gift - I know she will soooooo love it!!

2260  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Re: Would you pay $25 with free shipping for one of these? on: April 21, 2010 07:01:25 AM
There's a few ways to decide price, and asking random people is not one of them. Smiley
This is probably true - the people you need to ask are the people who would be your target market, and to be truthful, they are probably not going to be the types to spend $25 on something they can't smoke Wink (joking)
I know how difficult it can be when you put a lot of time into something.  I have had people ask me to make certain items for them and I have out and out told them that they probably wouldn't be willing to pay the price for so many hours of my time.  It's certainly not a lost cause, but maybe you just need to branch out to some other audiences. (The idea of having a head shop sell them on commision isn't a bad one either - impulse buy!  Wink
