Thanks! And the worm would be a great beginner project - but probably not the "needle felting around the flash drive" part.
When I first started needle felting I went on Ebay and bought a couple of needles, the foam base and some wool roving (I've noticed that it seems to be a little bit easier to find the supplies in some craft store these days.) Anyway - to start I took some roving and rubbed it between my hands to get a base, then started wrapping the green all around in sections and felting it with the needles until I had built it up into the size and shape I wanted. (Don't be afraid to poke away - it should be felted until its pretty firm!) Then I wrapped some purple around and felted that in. The eyes are small bits of roving that I formed into little balls between thumb and forefinger, then poked into place. The mouth is embroidery floss.
For the flash drive I had to do a little sideways felting to shape it around (broke a needle when I accidentally hit the drive)- then pulled the drive out, put a little glue around the end and slipped it back in.
If you've never tried needle felting you should - its not too hard and its kind of addictive- just have some bandaids on hand!! LOL
