Ohhhh - it gives me such hope to see your before and after pics....mine is not too unlike your before - and I know exactly what you mean about not knowing how to go about starting anything when you don't know what you've got.  I've been contemplating doing something similar....just haven't figured out where the heck to do it!!

Oh - you're doing a great job - a dream of mine to fix up an old house (even though I know it can seem like a never ending task sometimes!)  I'm so glad you got rid of that wallpaper border - LOL - makes you wonder what people were thinking sometimes.
