31  Wicked Forest Match box in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: May 17, 2012 03:13:51 PM
Well, with some trepidation I joined the Wicked Forest Match box swap - so many great crafters that seem to make working in miniature their specialty!  The talented and wacky Suereal was my partner, and one of her themes was "pissed off wood nymph" - so that's what I went with.  The "skeleton" is a tiny box of penny matches, covered in Polymer clay and embellished with moss and acrylic paint.  The inside is a tiny polymer nymph in a bed of moss and twigs...  unfortunately there was some sort of mishap on the journey to Canada, but suereal has reportedly fixed the problem.  Wink
  Here's what I did!

...there's a fungus among us...

...Shh-hhh - you don't wanna piss her off!  Wink

34  Re: The Most Amazing Wicked Vices Altered Tin swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by thisbirdsabsurd on: February 06, 2012 03:51:48 PM
You know how you feel when you open up a swap package and the contents just fit you so perfectly you could cry?  Well - that is just how I felt today - and even though I didn't actually cry, I did stand in the kitchen mumbling and laughing to myself for a long enough time that my dogs came in to make sure I was okay.  Okay - okay - without further ado - her is the spectacular tin I received from my partner luckydog!
First of all - it is quite heavy - I was perplexed when I got a large-ish box at my door!  And check out the little spinny doo dad at the bottom - "More Vice - Less Nice"!

-and there's not just ONE picture - there's a whole BOOKLET of them!

Has anyone guessed that avoiding housework might just be a vice of mine?  Thank you so much luckydog - you made an amazing tin and I'm so lucky to have been it's recipient!  Smiley

35  Chocolatey Goodness??? in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: January 24, 2012 12:06:48 PM
My partner received this yesterday - so safe to post.  Smiley  This was for the "Wicked Vices Altered Tin" swap - and, one her vices being "overindulging in sweets", I sort of accidentally came up with this.  It's all polymer clay on the outside, stuffed with delicious fleece filling.  Wink  Bon apetit!

36  Tired Old Elf in Winter Holidays by thisbirdsabsurd on: December 02, 2011 05:23:50 PM
I made this for nooo in the vintage Christmas tin swap.  I got a few tips from knickertwist, and used an antique photo that I found in a local shop - I love this guy and wonder what the story was behind this photo.

38  Watchful Eye Potion Box in Halloween Decor and Parties by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 13, 2011 10:52:05 AM
This was the last of the Mini 13 days of Halloween swap.  I started off just thinking I'd do some potion bottles, but it soon grew out of control.  I was sad to have to send it off - but thrilled to know it went to someone who would appreciate it.  So...here ya go!

The little skull bottle was handmade - the others are all antique bottles that I labeled...

Any of you NMBC fans might recognize a few familiar potions...Wink

39  Skull Mask in Halloween Decor and Parties by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 08, 2011 10:55:39 AM
This is a mask I painted for the mini 13 days of Halloween swap.  It was inspired by a black and white and lavender mask that I found online.  But before I got to the color part I stopped - decided I liked in black and white.  The INSIDE of the mask is where the color is.  Wink  (RED)

(thanks Sederick - for getting a better shot of it than I did.)  Wink

40  Vlad the Impaler in Halloween Decor and Parties by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 02, 2011 10:53:39 PM
-or Dracula as he is better known.  Wink  I made this little ornament for my partner in the Mini 13 days of Halloween swap. It's made from several odds and ends I got off of the dreaded "Alpha Stamps" website that rackycoo let me in on.  (Dreaded because I could spend a months pay in that place if I'm not careful!)  Wink
  Anyway- here he is!
