141  My Grandson's First Costume :( in Halloween Costumes by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 30, 2008 07:28:59 PM
Okay - so maybe he doesn't appreciate the whole "Halloween" thing.  I don't think Max from the Wild Things ever really cried....but, you get the idea.  Embarrassed  (I made this from a skunk costume pattern that my daughter bought.....hmmmm, there were a few adjustments.)

142  Circus Bag! :) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 26, 2008 04:50:03 PM
This is completely inspired by happyhippymommy and her Lucky Charms box purse! Grin  As soon as I saw this circus fabric I had to get me some!  I couldn't bare to use it as the lining - mine is proudly displayed as the outer fabric - even though my daughter told me she thinks I'm kinda wierd. (well....yeah.)
Okay - so here it is - love to hear what you think!

143  I PROMISE this is the last one! :) in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 19, 2008 10:18:52 AM
Okay - so enough with the shopping bags - right?  But I just had to show you all this one cause I love the two fabrics.  It's been a lot of fun picking out the outside fabric and even more fun picking out the "surprise" for the inside! Smiley

144  Re: The Fabulous Shopping Singlet Continued in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 17, 2008 02:26:26 PM
Oh - quillow is cute - or what about "Abra caBAGra" - haha - my granddaughter thought it was kinda magical. Smiley
To show my true obsession here - I made three more today....(I LOVE picking out the fabrics and got to use a few that I've had for a while but wasn't sure what to do with!)

145  The Fabulous Shopping Singlet Continued in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 16, 2008 09:39:36 PM
I thought it was funny to see more recent posts about this fabulous bag - I just finished my first one tonight and I have some great fabric to do a few more.  SO COOL!  I must admit, I was a bit flustered by the handle directions too - but figured it out eventually.  So here's my version - (a little bit wrinkly after being folded in its pouch) - thanks a million for this tutorial!

146  I Survived the Japanese Directions! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 13, 2008 11:38:36 AM
I have a few books with tons of super cute things to make - the only problem being  - they're all in Japanese!  Most of the stuff is do-able though, as long as you examine the pictures and diagrams....so here's the finished product!  She's about 5 inches tall....something for my granddaughter to play with.

147  A couple of drawings in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 10, 2008 07:27:41 AM
Here are a couple of parrot drawings I've done recently - both in pencil. Sometimes I go through my drawing phase, sometimes my crafting stage - I think I need to focus more.  Wink

148  Robot Duffel - Thanks Lia!! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 09, 2008 12:45:07 PM
I whipped together this bag with the help of Lia's tutorial (great directions by the way!) My daughter loves robots, so, found this cute Japanese fabric.  The lining totally doesn't match - but she picked bright green cause it's her favorite. Cheesy  I used two colors of webbing for the straps and I also added a little pocket on the inside.....so what do ya think?

149  Sock Monster in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 04, 2008 09:55:03 PM
-okay - first post here - I love making all sorts of dolls and stuffed animals, but was inspired by all you sock creature makers out there.  A friend of mine also gave me a sock animal book and I dug up the "Stupid Sock Creatures" book out of my closet.  That's what this guy is based on......kind of fun.
