101  Re: Tiny Fairy Tale House Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by thisbirdsabsurd on: December 16, 2010 12:15:19 PM
Lots of cute houses here - and the cuteness never ends.  Check out my little castle from Larissa Rasputin.  She chose The Princess and the Pea from my list - its made of sculpy (and I think you did a great job on your walls!)  Wink
Here is the outside with the little rose trellis

This is the little bed inside with a lovely painting on the wall.

AND...under two little mattresses is the dasterdly pea!!  Love it!

Thanks LR - its great!  Cheesy

102  Sleepin' With the Fishes in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: December 08, 2010 11:53:13 AM
Not sure this is the right category - but I made this fish pillow for my nephew who loves to fish. (Just give me an idea and I'll run with it.)  Wink  Its my own pattern, about 30" long and made entirely of remnants - (I can not resist the remnant bin at the fabric store!) There are shiney beads around the tail and eyes and his mouth is embroidered.  Thanks for taking a peek!   Cheesy

here we go - my cute little house from pink_ink.  Smiley

Thank you!!   Cheesy

well, it seems some little elves have run off with pink_ink's camera - lol.  I already posted the little house I made for her in finished projects, but I'll put it up here for the record.  Wink  This is the gnome home that FINALLY arrived in Cananda. (I think they delivered it on horseback. )  Wink

105  Gnome Sweet Gnome in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: November 23, 2010 04:40:00 PM
Well I guess this fits here!  My second little fairy tale dwelling for the tiny fairy tale house swap.  My partner received today so its safe to post!  Wink  I guess it goes without further explaination - this is a little gnome house.  It was inspired by a combination of Judy McCullough's much larger fairy houses and Mimi Kirchner's tiny worlds (they are wonderful)-but its my own pattern. Fabric, felted sweater and embroidery.  The little gnomes are sculpy.  Smiley  I don't usually do anything this small but I have to say, it was a great challenge and I really enjoyed making them!  Cheesy

106  Tiny Little Fairy Home in Felting: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: November 22, 2010 08:02:50 PM
I did this for the tiny Fairytale House swap.  It's needle felted with some embroidery and tiny sculpy fairies.  There's another tiny house (hopefully not lost) still traveling to Canada - I had a blast making both of them!!  Smiley

107  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 6!!!! in The Swap Gallery by thisbirdsabsurd on: November 19, 2010 01:03:30 PM
I LOVE the sound of the UPS man knocking at my door!  My package arrived from tattoedcrafter - full to the brim with birdy cuteness (and some non-birdy cuteness too!)  Smiley  So here we go....
of course everything was adorably packaged in little sparkley cartons....and of course everyone was too excited to think about picture taking before we unwrapped!  But here's all the loot - handwarmers for everyone including my one daughter who claimed her hands were too cold to take them off for the picture.  Wink

Check out this adorable birdy trio - all set for Christmas.  Cheesy

And this little mechanical bird she made frommy wist!  How cute is he???  His poor little tail fell off on his trip here, but that will soon be fixed!

Then came the swirly bird ornaments - ready for my tree - and I had to include a closeup of the designs on the handwarmers.  Awesome!  My other daughter's didn't have a design, but they were a fancy stitch - really pretty!!

And all the cute bought items and of course - the curly-q stocking - love it!!  (Sorry its sideways - but really, its cute anyway you turn it!  Wink

Thanks so much tattooedcrafter - great fun!!!!!

108  Gnome on a stick! in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: November 09, 2010 06:44:58 PM
This little guy and his trusty toadstool are a couple of other creations from the Christmas stocking swap.  Also based on my awesome partner's wist, they are tiny little guardians to stick in a plant pot.  Smiley

109  SWEEEEET! Sugar Skull Pin Cushion in Polymer Clay: Completed Projects by thisbirdsabsurd on: November 08, 2010 06:51:23 PM
Hi all - I did this as a part of a super fun stocking swap - based on a pin cushion from my partner's wist - I molded the clay around a foam skull leaving a hole for the actual pin cushion. Painting it was the fun part - and a special nod to the coolest website on the net!!!   Wink

110  Eiffel Tower Cookies? Oui! Oui! in Dessert by thisbirdsabsurd on: October 26, 2010 07:12:25 AM
I made these to be sold at a little french crepery in town.  A lot of work though - not sure I feel like it will pay off when all is said and done.  I think they're pretty cool though!  Wink
