1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Storm Trooper Pillow. on: November 10, 2009 02:35:02 AM
I painted an old tshirt for a friend recently, but as it did not fit, I turned it into a pillow...
Its all fairly self explanitory.. but so that I have actually written something:
Storm trooper painted with black fabric painted, then ironed after air dryed.
Cut out and sewn into a pillow Smiley

2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / NZ SWAP? on: September 28, 2009 02:34:53 AM
I am not sure I am eligible for swaps yet (by 15 posts do they mean 15 posts of items I have made?)
but just for future reference, are there any NZers out there who would like to do a swap round? or anyone from elsewhere in the world willing to post to NZ?
Or perhaps an international swap where each member is matched up with someone from another country & could send themed items from their own country to their partner?

COMMENTS/IDEAS?

Thanks x
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Cute (I hope!) Apron on: September 23, 2009 07:24:09 AM
My friend Cassie has been moaning about how there are no full length cute aprons for sale in our town..
so I decided to make her one as a suprise..

I brought a black waist apron from the opshop, and decorated it, added on a top half and lace etc.
I didn't have a pattern so its probably a bit wonky, but for 3 hours work I am pretty pleased with it.

Hope she likes it!

My besty wanted to send a thankyou present to a friend of ours - and asked me to make her something cute.. she gave me some old tights and various other scraps - & I came up with this.

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Snuff the Tragic Dragon! on: September 20, 2009 05:06:13 AM
So I have been feeling decidedly lack lustre in the creative department lately. I just feel so uninspired. I also feel particularly talentless. I enjoy MOST crafts & artforms.. painting, drawing, scrapbooking, papercrafts (cards & such), sewing, polymer clay etc etc.. but I just don't seem to have a particular knack for any of them..
So I hijacked my moms sewing machine yesterday.. & came up with..

Snuff the Tragic Dragon!!

Brody thinks my sewing skills are dubious too!

But still worthy of a hug..

Atleast the dog appreciates my dodgy dragon!

Hmm seems sewing isn't my forte either...back to the drawing board!
7  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Kiaora from New Zealand =) on: December 21, 2008 02:32:20 AM
Hey my names Sarah,
I am 22 years old, Newly married, Mom of one (18mnth old son named Brody) & 4months pregnant with a second.
I have been lurking around craftster for quite a while, and love seeing all the projects people come up with! in fact I probably lurk too much as my son has started pulling my computer cord out Tongue

Anyway can anyone HELP?
I am dying to try out new media, and particularly things that don't take toooo much talent! can anyone suggest some easy things to muck around with? I dabble at sewing.. I like playing with polyclay, and painting, and I tattoo a bit.. but anything that requires a pattern or tricky process.. count me out!

I am quite interested in Shrinky Dink.. I am going to try my local store but can anyone tell me how it works and also if it has any other aliases as I haven't heard of it in New Zealand before, so maybe its called something else?

Sorry if this isnt meant to be posted here, but I havent worked out where the HELP forum is yet Cheesy

Thanks in advance!
xx
Sarah.
8  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Ugly Monster Doll! on: October 02, 2008 08:13:50 PM
So I love making random things for my son, who at 14months has such a short attention span that new interesting toys are needed.. otherwise he finds his own interesting toys.. such as my digital camera.. which I now have no idea of its whereabouts.

So excuse the crappy webcam pics..
And my first try on the sewing machine since age 12! (there was lots of expletives and thread jams!)

Here is Brody's new Monster (A Monster for a Monster HAH!)

He has a little friend!

Yes I am hiding behind a pillow >.>

My son was fascinated by his new toy!..
for about ten seconds..  after which he promptly threw the whole lot on the floor and scuttled off to play with his ball.

Hope I posted this all right.. ^_^
