I know this is past the party by a month, but I've done Eat-o-Vision parties a few times. My first was Forrest Gump (as mentioned earlier), and I put my menu in the finished parties section here. Then I did Elf for Christmas and that was fantastic. I'd also suggest Ocean's 11, Napolean Dynamite, Chocolat, Goonies, Willy Wonka, and Julie & Julia (a little too adult maybe).
We're living abroad in Italy for the next few years, but with our APO address we get shipping as quickly as from coast-to-coast back home, and the postage costs the same. Would you ladies be OK with that if I joined in?
I think you should also have some fun props like heart-shaped pillows, old suitcases, a record player, and a rotary phone. And if you could get some vintage Vargas calendars (which could double as favors) or a coffee table book, then you could have the girls flip through them and practice poses and decide on hair-dos while they wait for their turn. Your friend could save some money by having women bring their own makeup (that's cleanlier too), just make sure you tell them no neutrals! This is an awesome idea. I'm so jealous I don't know the bride!
Sorry I've been absent a few days - it's pretty crazy around here. Great job, Easter swappers. We had no flakers, and everyone crafted great, thoughtful gifts. You've all posted wonderful photos. I really hope everyone enjoys their received gifts, and I hope you had fun making them all too. Happy Easter, ladies.
I received a fun package from Crafty Butterfly today. My son was overjoyed at "a little baby bunny" - he's super into bunnies right now. She made me a gigantic doily centerpiece for the Easter dinner table, a great Peter Rabbit-based journal for us to write family memories in, and some lovely flower pens. Then the amazing little eggs were all stitched with small pockets for the goodies. Inside were a couple ceramic bunnies, some stickers, a few tattoos, and 4 fun little snakes - one for each of us in corresponding lengths. I was able to keep all 8 eggs a secret from the boys so that we can put them in their Easter baskets. Fun!! Thanks so much!
Just a reminder to everyone that the sendouts are this Saturday. I haven't heard from a few of you in a while, so if you haven't sent yet, please make sure to post an update soon with your confirmation that it'll be sent by the weekend. Thanks!
I received my fabulous package from squire_inaria last night. The first craft (and clearly most important based on my son's opinion) is a long-legged and long-necked Sneetch toy that he reviewed "I love my Dr. Seuss little birdie and I'm going to call him little love birdie." Then she gave my younger son and me beautiful hand-painted t-shirts. I'm doing a Dr. Seuss-themed party for his next birthday, so she made 8 perfect invitations from the Marvin K. Mooney book. Then for a yummy treat she made us chocolate green eggs & ham. Fantastic!
