1  Re: Easter Egg Swap Gallery (send-outs: 4/9) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by nikimac on: April 11, 2011 11:28:29 PM
I received a fun package from Crafty Butterfly today.  My son was overjoyed at "a little baby bunny" - he's super into bunnies right now.  She made me a gigantic doily centerpiece for the Easter dinner table, a great Peter Rabbit-based journal for us to write family memories in, and some lovely flower pens.  Then the amazing little eggs were all stitched with small pockets for the goodies.  Inside were a couple ceramic bunnies, some stickers, a few tattoos, and 4 fun little snakes - one for each of us in corresponding lengths.  I was able to keep all 8 eggs a secret from the boys so that we can put them in their Easter baskets.  Fun!!  Thanks so much!

2  Re: Dr. Seuss Swap Round 3 Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by nikimac on: March 31, 2011 10:36:35 AM
I received my fabulous package from squire_inaria last night.  The first craft (and clearly most important based on my son's opinion) is a long-legged and long-necked Sneetch toy that he reviewed "I love my Dr. Seuss little birdie and I'm going to call him little love birdie."  Then she gave my younger son and me beautiful hand-painted t-shirts.  I'm doing a Dr. Seuss-themed party for his next birthday, so she made 8 perfect invitations from the Marvin K. Mooney book.  Then for a yummy treat she made us chocolate green eggs & ham.  Fantastic!

4  Easter Egg Swap (sign-ups: 2/23-3/9, send-outs: 4/9) in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by nikimac on: February 23, 2011 02:51:40 PM

Swap name: Easter Egg Swap
Craftster member who is organizing this swap: nikimac
Sign-up date range: 2/23/11-3/9/11
Date to send item by: 4/9/11

Limited to a certain number of people? (optional): 24

Restricted to people who all live in the same country? Yes due to time constraints
If so, which country? USA

Details of swap:

For those of us who have kids (or kids at heart!), I was thinking it'd be fun to craft one medium item (or two smalls) and then fill 8 plastic Easter eggs with a few small crafts, some treats, bought toys, etc.  Then our partners can add the gifts to baskets at home.  Well have 2 weeks to sign up and 1 month to craft & gather goodies.  Im limiting the swap to within the US so that we can all receive our eggs by Easter for sure.  If you and your partner agree to it, you can certainly fill more eggs.  Please make at least 2 tiny crafts for filling the eggs, but you can put food or store-bought items in the others.  PM me with any questions or suggestions.

Sorry, Mare Mare.  I didn't know that was a DC requirement till I got there.  I'll definitely make more if they get lost in the mail.  Here's my cards from Mellermann86.  My son and I already used the chicky one to send a note to our sponsored child in Kenya.  Thank you!

8  Re: Secret Santa Swap Party Round 2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by nikimac on: December 20, 2010 08:29:48 PM
I got some incredible presents.  First, a Happy Birthday banner that I can reuse for celebration after celebration, including for my husband's birthday in just a week.

It's gorgeous, and very sturdy.  I've been wanting this for a long time.

Then, something I've been wanting even longer - a Pat the Husband parody book.  It's funny.  Like really funny.  Every page is more ridiculous.  I love it.

Then a super fun cupcake apron.  I love cupcakes and I love baking!

Lastly, some spectacular fabric for me to do whatever with, covered in some lovely retro ladies.

Thank you soooo much!

9  Re: COOKIES!! Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by nikimac on: December 06, 2010 03:12:36 PM
I had such a nice time meeting with Calabaza this afternoon.  Her cookies are fantastic.  I ended up just making run-of-the-mill sugar cookies, but she gave me tea cookies, spice cookies, and sugar cookies.  She crafted me an amazing (and sturdy!) kitchen towel, and bought me 4 of my favorite gel pens!  Thank you so much!
