21  Baptism candle for Emma in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Ewulotta on: November 02, 2013 09:04:56 AM
My daughter is being baptized in two weeks from now. Crafty mum that I am I couldn't resist making her baptismal candle. I used the symbol of the fish that we had already used for the invitations and the symbol of water. It was the first time that I decorated a candle but I really enjoyed it and I'm already looking forward to making more.

This is Wuudy! Hollistercobabe made him for me in a private swap in 2010. So he's excited about visiting his home country

So here's what mama24boyz sent me

A scarf or rather a laviat in pretty autumn colours which I'm wearing right now

An owl pullover for little Emma

We'll take a five day trip to the Dutch coast, so the pullover is perfect for the cold weather.

And finally a four piece wall art right from my Pinterest

I love everything! Thank you so much, Melanie!

24  Re: Ongoing Baby/Kiddo Swap Discussion in New Swap Theme Ideas by Ewulotta on: September 27, 2013 12:27:40 AM
I had quite a productive weekend and almost finished my claim for rlynn.

Finally, here's a picture of the felt bird mobile which anna.wahnsinn made for me

It has been in use ever since we received it Smiley Emma loves it and laughs when the little birds "fly" around.

Anne also sent some extras: two lovely dresses and I can't wait for Emma to grow so she can wear them. Apart from that Anne and I did a private swap and so she included those items: two awesome pillowcase right from my Pinterest. You did such a great job, Anne! The birdie pillowcase must have taken forever! I so love it! And I feel bad that you're still waiting for your package! At least the replacement fabric arrived yesterday, so I'm making progress.
Will take pictures of all the other things as soon as possible.
And thanks again for a fantastic package, Anne!

27  Coronet baby beanie (now with action shot) in Knitting: Completed Projects by Ewulotta on: April 29, 2013 06:57:22 AM
First of all I have to confess: I DID NOT make this newborn beanie but my fabulous aunt! Nonetheless I want to share this cute little cap with you. My contribution to the project was finding the pattern in a free regional magazine and picking the yarn. Unfortunately I'm not a knitter (all I've mastered so far is the stockinette stitch), so my aunt took care of the knitting which turned out to be a bit tricky. She thinks it's a bit too small BUT I'm so happy with the result! The beanie is so so cute! It looks small but it stretches a lot. I can't wait for the little girl to arrive and wear her cute little beanie!

Enough talk - here's a picture:

I know the colors rather seem like "boy colors" but I don't really care about this kind of distinction.

Thanks for looking!

28  burp cloth and changing pad in Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies by Ewulotta on: April 29, 2013 06:37:49 AM
Since I'm getting ready to be a mommy soon, I've made quite a lot of baby stuff recently. Of course burp cloths and a changing pad are essential for nursing and diapering so they shouldn't be missing.

Burp cloth

I used an old towel for the back of the burp cloth.

The changing pad rolled up ...

... and rolled out

Thanks for looking!

29  hush little baby (now with "action shot") in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by Ewulotta on: April 29, 2013 06:25:37 AM
Romper bags have been quite popular here for quite a while now and many people have recommended them to me, also my midwife. Since the pattern is quite simple, they're easy and quick to make. Basically all you need to do is to attach a waistband to a bag.

I used terrycloth for the inner bag, cotton for the outer bag and cotton jersey knit for the waistband.

Here's a picture of our little preemie girl:

She sleeps so so well in the romper bag!

30  getting ready to be a mommy - diaper wallet in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Ewulotta on: April 29, 2013 06:12:29 AM
As we're expecting a first child in summer, I'm busy getting all the handy things together a soon-to-be mom needs. After searching online for diaper wallets  I made one based on all the different patterns I had found. So here's the result:

It has three pockets for baby wipes, diapers and maybe little books and one zippered pocket for baby care products like cream or baby care oil.

Unfortunately the zipper ist a bit short but I didn't have a longer one in this particular color at hand.
Hubby wants me to make another one - he doesn't like the flowery pattern - so I'll pay more attention the length of the zipper then.
