1  Don't OMG me! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: July 19, 2010 02:36:42 AM
I've been toying with some ideas for some pendants using cute phrases. I used glass cabochons over the text and attached them to a silver plated base.

I think the speech bubble effect looks really cute! What do you guys think?

2  Hello cupcake! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: June 20, 2010 11:59:13 AM
I haven't posted for a while, but decided to post this little necklace I made.

The image is set under a glass cabochon and I have sewn a teeny bow on the top. I want to eat the cupcake pictured, but I doubt it'd taste very nice  Wink

comments and critiques welcome

3  Kitsch Kawaii Dolly! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: March 07, 2010 03:05:02 AM
So I've been busy making new stuff. I have lots of ideas, so hoping to put them into action soon.
This is one of my dolly necklaces. I have sewn the mini bow onto the chain to make it look like dolly is wearing it in her hair!

What do you guys think?

4  Comic Book Modpodged heels in Shoes: Completed Projects by VintageKitschMagpie on: October 22, 2009 04:14:10 AM
Inspired by so many posts on this forum, I decided to make a pair of my own comic book shoes. I wanted a going out pair, so bought some shoes with a nice, small heel. They have a cute bow on, and a small band across the toe area which I left undecoupaged for effect.

They were a soft leather, so I gently sandpapered the upper to give a better base for the comic book. I used the outdoor mod podge, but plan on sealing with a coat of clear paint.

I know this isn't an original idea, but this is my take. I didn't take a before pic  Undecided

5  Blue Treasure Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: October 05, 2009 01:49:34 PM
Completely inspired by the other junk necklace creations-great way of using up your destash!

I decided to stick to one colour, adding sequins, charms, beads-anything I haven't used. I think the silver adds a nice tone to the necklace-what do you guys think?

6  Kitsch twist on the cameo in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: September 30, 2009 03:05:46 AM
I've previously posted a cameo with a little New York cab attached. This time, I have added a cute little Lady Mushroom and some colourful mini drops.

7  Big Yellow Taxi necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: September 01, 2009 04:57:10 AM
I bought a load of kitsch buttons from my local craft shop and snipped the backs off. I attached them to some cameo mounts and voila!

8  butterfly sequin necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: August 27, 2009 02:50:51 PM
I've been toying around with different things to make into necklaces and found some butterfly sequins that I was going to use in another project.

I got them together, slipped some jump rings through and added to a chain. It was really easy to do and the necklace really catches the light. Here's the end result:

9  Hungry? Pizza and Pepsi necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: August 27, 2009 05:40:33 AM
So I found these little pepsi carton miniatures and went on the hunt for mini pizza to go with. The pizza is made of fimo, so it was quite easy to work holes into the sides for the jumprings to go through.

What do you guys think?

10  Lovin' Las Vegas! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by VintageKitschMagpie on: August 24, 2009 11:11:46 AM
So I've had a bit of an obsession with Las Vegas recently and decided to make this lovely necklace...

Basically I found the Las Vegas button in a local craft shop and snipped the back off. I then glued this to a silver base and strung it all together. The casino chip was in the pack of buttons and I thought it was a nice little touch!

I love the glitter on the button-it's difficult to see in this pic.

Would be nice to know what you guys think  Kiss
