11  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Mother's Day / Mother's day cards for the ladies in my family on: May 04, 2009 02:20:08 PM
I went to Joann's and splurged on some very pretty paper. So I decided to make cards using the paper for my mom, aunts, grandmother and great grandmother. I have a whole booklet of the paper so it was so hard to choose what to use since it was all so pretty! I went with the collage style so I could feel content by using more than 1 pattern, hehe.

Anyways, here's how they turned out:

12  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Embroidered birthday card for one of my friends on: May 01, 2009 06:27:00 PM
My friend's birthday is coming up and I suddenly found myself only having two days to make her something. I decided to try out this idea I've had for a card...using embroidered designs on card stock. I haven't embroidered before so I thought this would also be a good opportunity to teach myself some basic stitches and practice on paper before eventually moving onto fabrics. Anyways, below is the result of my experimentation. Enjoy!

The other day, I went to Joann's and bought all this pretty paper....and decided I would use one of those sheets for the inside of the card. I love scrap booking paper!

13  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Wreath with tons of bead work dedicated to biology! on: April 11, 2009 04:22:19 PM
One of my good friends and I were bored one day and we came up with a plan to make wreaths in honor of science. Since I'm a biology major, I naturally decided to have DNA, bacteria and all that fun stuff on my wreath. This required a lot of beads and wire! Below are photos of the end result. Enjoy! And yes, I fully realize I am a science geek!  Grin

14  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Christmas gift - hot cocoa in painted tin and homemade granola on: February 02, 2009 11:20:26 AM
My theme this year for Christmas gifts were all food related...so I painted jars and tins and filled them with delicious warm drink mixes like hot chocolate and chai mixes. I also made granola and filled snack bags with gift tags. It was so much fun to make and I'm sure all the recipients enjoyed the yummy treats! Smiley

Here is one of the tins I painted and a snack bag filled with granola. The last link are two tins that I filled with hot cocoa and tea and I made labels for both.

15  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Decorating my bedroom and cute storage ideas on: January 14, 2009 12:49:26 PM
I wanted to decorate my room using the colors of my bedspread...and I had very few shelves for storing all my random things. So I made a bunch of storage boxes to eliminate the clutter around my room and make everything match.

I bought this awesome paper with pretty patterns and mounted them on foam core and hung them on my wall...white walls drive me crazy! And painting is not an option unfortunately or else I totally would. I also did the same thing with some of the posters I hung around the room.

So here are all the pics of the boxes and two views of the room completed. Enjoy!
