The lacing is really cool, It curves so perfectly.  I like the way you did it with the loops of ribbon as well - so simple but looks great.

37  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: it's a tea cosy!! on: March 17, 2005 12:58:00 AM
I love it!  the back, the front, the letters, everything.  I once made a tea cosy and know how hard those layers are on the sewing machine.  I ended up hand sewing the final bit.

Nice, I like the colours you used, the stripy one is neat.  I do like the pocket shape, might have to try one of these Smiley
39  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: stupid stupid stupid me on: March 10, 2005 12:05:37 AM
Buy a washout tracing pen from craft/quilt store.  Trace the pattern onto your fabric (needs to be thin for this) by taping pattern and fabric onto your window.  Instant light box!  I do this all the time and it works well.

40  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Re: Red Embroidery Floss on: March 09, 2005 11:05:23 PM
Prewash to be safe and use DMC or Anchor.  I have never had red run and I embroider with it a lot but have always heard it is the least stable dye colour.  I usually wash my work afterwards if it is redwork to get the tracing pen out.
