I'm now looking out for an old board and tiles to make one,  I could not bear to use mine.  I Love the way the numbers are spelled out around the clock face.   This is very cool.

Brilliant!  I saw at the end you mentioned NZ and laughed. It IS so cold right now and a lovely hottie cover would be fabulous. I love Alice and way she is peeking aorund the cover.  The page detail is very nicely done as well.

Hey, does anyone know of any places in CHCH that sell handmade crafts on behalf of the creators and keep a percentage of the profit? Because I know they exist in places like America and such, but does NZ have them? Does anyone else know what I'm talking about?

Purple Patch works like that I think.  Some sort of co-operative.  They advertise on CTV a lot.  Seems to be older ladies though and quite traditional crafts.  The shop has moved, was on Ferry road as far as I remember.  There was a shop out in new Brighton that seemed to also work this way.  The tags on the crafts had peoples intials to track them when things sold.  It was half way down the mall on the right looking away from the beach.  Not been out there for a while so no idea if it is still there.

This was made for a school play - think dancing strawberry with a pavlova-on-a-plate hat.   A classic Kiwi dessert.  Easy to make... not so easy to fix up TWICE    when kids trashed it after rehersals and pulled bits off it.  The 'hat' base is a white polystyrene one we had already from a museum craft project (it was a Samoan church hat with plastic hibiscus.....) 



The pavlova part is ruched cream coloured fabric.  The 'cream' is dacron topped with felt kiwifruit slices.  The strawberries originally were glued on shells from the former craft incarnation...  could not get them off so painted them red, added seeds and green felt strawberry tops.

She is so cute.  I love the way she can hold all the sewing bits and pieces.  The thimble basket is adorable.

so do the pink ones taste like cherry or stawberry? or are they all just marshmallow flavored??? 

They taste the same as the white.  I did have some raspberry flavoured ones once.  YUM.
