1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Wavehaven LARP group crest on: June 18, 2012 11:10:56 PM
I belong to a Fantasy/medieval recreation group called Amtgard, which is popular all over the US and in a couple of other countries as well. I don't do much fighting, but I really enjoy the arts and crafts aspect of the group. The other members are super encouraging and inspire me to reach new levels of skill with my art. This embroidery piece was created as a part of a larger quilt that contains all the crests from the various lands of Westmarch (California).

if you are interested in Amtgard check it out here. It is a free, non-profit organization and everyone is welcome!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Combo contest entry: Food for Thought on: August 22, 2010 05:28:29 PM
This is the project I created for the Combo Contest hosted by Sublime Stitching. I used several patterns including: the monk from Om Sweet Om, I Luv Veggies, the sweets from the Sublime Stitching books, and the free patterns that come with the transfer paper. I embroidered my design on a black handmade apron.

9  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Babylock Xscape bobbin on: July 08, 2010 12:27:02 PM
I recently inherited my mother's Babylock Xscape sewing machine, which thrilled me to no end! the problem is she lost the manuel long ago, and doesn't know how to thread the bobbin. Now, i'm not the sharpest needle in the sewing box, but I've tried everything! The Babylock website no longer has any info on the machine, and the store my mother bought it at closed about 3 years ago. Tongue

Can any of you intelligent ladies help me out? Its a horizontal loading bobbin, which I have never seen before.

Here is a gypsy 3-tiered skirt I made for the bellydance class I take with my baby sister.
I'm thinking of adding some sequins or coins perhaps, because it needs something sparkly

please excuse my scuzzy post-dance practice garb Tongue
