1  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Upcycled Marine Corps uniforms in to a lap quilt on: August 04, 2012 05:48:49 AM
I found some of my old uniforms that were no longer usable. I cut them up in to 6 1/2 squares and then randomly put them together in to a small lap quilt. I wanted to make it bigger but I honestly got frustrated and gave up! Horrible, I know. But anyway, here it is:

2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Button up man's shirt into a cute swing top on: November 14, 2011 03:28:57 PM
I found this shirt at the half off sale last week. I wanted to test out a pattern and see if using a man's shirt would be enough to make a top or dress for my daughter.

Here is a close up of the tag and price. It was a little faded in spots so I think it was folded in plastic before being donated.

Here is the finished project. It worked out pretty well but DD doesn't like the dots! ha ha...Oh well
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Size 14 dress into a vest on: November 02, 2011 05:41:53 PM
This dress has been in my cut up pile forever and like most stuff in that pile, I have no idea where it came from! It was a 14, too big for me, and a cute print. So in normal "me" fashion, I cut it up and made something else.

Here is the vest that I made. But in normal "me" fashion, I made it with no adjustments to the pattern and it's just a little too big for me. So I will add buttons and maybe figure out a way to make it fit!

4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / The Busy Baby Quilt on: April 12, 2011 06:24:53 PM
This is just a cute baby quilt I made for the heck of it. It's kinda busy with all the prints on the front, hence the name. It's backed in a pink vintage sheet that I got at an estate sale.

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Upcycled velvet pants and thrift store curtains on: April 12, 2011 06:22:35 PM
I don't remember where the tan velvet pants came from but there is a very good chance that they were a thrift store or flea market buy. The purple was a curtain, I think, and I got it at a GW in NC. It's just a little lap quilt but its cute and cozy!  Wink It's backed with some stretchy, heavy weight apparel fabric that I got who knows when.

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / T Shirt Quilt for ME this time :) on: April 07, 2011 07:06:02 PM
My first t shirt quilt was for my ex while we were married, he doesn't even know where it is right now (boooo...). The 2nd was a Christmas gift for my brother and sister in law and even though I have had the chance to sleep under it I knew I wanted one of my own Smiley

Here it is:

Half the shirts were from my closet and the other half just thrift finds.
7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / My Hobby Lobby / TN quilt on: February 10, 2011 08:17:40 PM
I bought the fabric for this quilt almost 2 years ago when I lived in TN. I found two blue sheets at a thrift the same day and I loved how the colors went together. I wanted to have the quilt made a long time ago, but divorce and moving got in the way. But now this is my first quilt of 2011 and I am thrilled with it!

Sorry about the crappy camera phone pictures:

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Another square quilt...Christmas gift to my Uncle on: January 02, 2011 07:09:47 AM
Here is another of the simple square quilts I made for Christmas. This one is backed with fleece and my walking foot was very helpful with that!! I think it turned out pretty well, but I learned a few things in the process.

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Pink and Black Kitties for my other niece on: December 26, 2010 06:08:31 PM
Here is another that I made from my other niece. Flannel black and pink kitties. She loved it!

10  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / First Quilt Post...Blue Monkey for my Niece on: December 26, 2010 06:01:40 PM
I made quilts for Christmas this year. I didn't realize how much work I had gotten myself into, especially since I waited till the last minute. Here is the first one, for my niece:
