2  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Some Adventure Time Play Costumes! LOTS of photos! HUGE! on: April 28, 2014 02:17:56 PM
I just LOVE the pink sleeves on the dress! Awesome job Smiley
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Upcycled Marine Corps uniforms in to a lap quilt on: August 04, 2012 05:48:49 AM
I found some of my old uniforms that were no longer usable. I cut them up in to 6 1/2 squares and then randomly put them together in to a small lap quilt. I wanted to make it bigger but I honestly got frustrated and gave up! Horrible, I know. But anyway, here it is:

4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Re: Button up man's shirt into a cute swing top on: November 15, 2011 09:26:12 AM
That is very cute and a great way to upcycle.  Did you wing it or have a pattern/tutorial?

I started with Simplicity Sew Simple P2019 but I made the sleeves a little smaller at the shoulder and of course made the length shorter. I really like this pattern and have already made a nightgown, this project and now I am about to make another  Wink
5  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Button up man's shirt into a cute swing top on: November 14, 2011 03:28:57 PM
I found this shirt at the half off sale last week. I wanted to test out a pattern and see if using a man's shirt would be enough to make a top or dress for my daughter.

Here is a close up of the tag and price. It was a little faded in spots so I think it was folded in plastic before being donated.

Here is the finished project. It worked out pretty well but DD doesn't like the dots! ha ha...Oh well
6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Size 14 dress into a vest on: November 02, 2011 05:41:53 PM
This dress has been in my cut up pile forever and like most stuff in that pile, I have no idea where it came from! It was a 14, too big for me, and a cute print. So in normal "me" fashion, I cut it up and made something else.

Here is the vest that I made. But in normal "me" fashion, I made it with no adjustments to the pattern and it's just a little too big for me. So I will add buttons and maybe figure out a way to make it fit!

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / The Busy Baby Quilt on: April 12, 2011 06:24:53 PM
This is just a cute baby quilt I made for the heck of it. It's kinda busy with all the prints on the front, hence the name. It's backed in a pink vintage sheet that I got at an estate sale.

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Upcycled velvet pants and thrift store curtains on: April 12, 2011 06:22:35 PM
I don't remember where the tan velvet pants came from but there is a very good chance that they were a thrift store or flea market buy. The purple was a curtain, I think, and I got it at a GW in NC. It's just a little lap quilt but its cute and cozy!  Wink It's backed with some stretchy, heavy weight apparel fabric that I got who knows when.

9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / T Shirt Quilt for ME this time :) on: April 07, 2011 07:06:02 PM
My first t shirt quilt was for my ex while we were married, he doesn't even know where it is right now (boooo...). The 2nd was a Christmas gift for my brother and sister in law and even though I have had the chance to sleep under it I knew I wanted one of my own Smiley

Here it is:

Half the shirts were from my closet and the other half just thrift finds.
