A super-soft eye mask, kindly modeled by my Smurfette:

Action shot of the cushiony slippers (ignore the messy floor):

An extremely cute sock-monkey bookmark:

Finally, absolutely delicious teas (I've already tried the chocolate one and it gets 3 thumbs up):

A HUGE thank you Karli, I love it all!!!

Coasters & pot holders:

An adorable tote bag (love the colour btw):

The cutest water bottle carrier, in action (I happened to be wearing a perfectly matching shirt):

Hair clips with Smurfs and pictures of my eyes:

Hi all, I know bronzfrog received my package a while ago and, since she hasn't done so yet, I will post pictures of what I sent. Her package is on the way, hopefully it will get here early next week before I go on vacation! I have many, many, many pics, so most will be thumbnails - you just have to click on them to see the larger size.

The can:

Bracelets:

Bookmarks galore:

A doorknob hanger:

So she can find her keys easily:

To make her dream of winter during unbearably hot summer days:

Origami frogs:
I also made a small single frog and hid it under the cover, so that it would pop out when she opened the can, I hope it worked!

To make her smile:

So she doesn't slip in the bathtub:

That's it! In hope bronzfrog enjoyed everything ...

74  Key-tainer Made With a Rubber Bath Toy (tutorial) in Completed Projects by Geniale on: July 04, 2009 08:48:06 PM
Have you ever had to dig deep in your purse or bag looking for your keys and end up taking everything out before you actually find them?

I made this key-tainer (word I invented to represent a container to hold keys) using a rubber-ducky-type whale I got at the dollar store. It came along with a chicken and a frog. It makes for an easy grab and is cute too!

  • I've tied a cell phone chain to my key ring (that I keep hanging out of the whale's mouth) so that I can pull out the keys easily, rather than fondling around to try and get a good hold on the keys.
  • Putting the keys back in is quick and easy - just squish the toy and drop them in.
  • It is very solid, I can shake the thing around and the keys don't slip out.

Just be sure that the toy is large enough to fit keys. If it's not, I think you could also use this to carry along candy, medication, or other little things that you lose at the bottom of your bag.

So here's the tute, I hope everything is clear...

VOIL!!! It's as easy as that!
Please, post or send me a picture if you try this!

(I used a lanyard from an old portable cd player that has been collecting dust - the only thing that bothers me is that the brand name is printed all over it... anyone have an idea how I can hide or remove this?)

75  Trash? I think not... in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Geniale on: May 14, 2009 08:38:46 PM
This was a pouch given to me by a friend who picked it out of a neighbour's garbage. It was ripped below the velcro closure, so, as I was sewing it up, I decided to re-vamp the bag. I removed the ugly brand logo sewn on the front of the bag. To perk it up more, I added an old tie lying around in a drawer. There was a belt loop at the back, which I wanted to keep, that I also hid with the tie. I didn't think of taking before pictures, but this is the end result... tell me what you think! I'm actually quite proud of it  Embarrassed

Here it is:

The back (belt loop):

Thanks for taking the time to look!

76  Glass Beads: Ring in Beads: Completed Projects by Geniale on: April 10, 2009 08:29:24 PM
This is a ring I made a while back. It is made of glass and seed beads. I weaved a clear fishing cord to connect the glass beads (on top) and clear elastic cords to tie up the seed beads that go around the finger. The elastic cord makes it easy to take on and off. I haven't made much jewelry (esp. beaded), but I'm very proud of this piece. Hope it inspires someone  Smiley

77  Bronze Family Heritage Medal Necklace in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Geniale on: April 10, 2009 08:15:41 PM
I recently found this medal in my stuff. It means a lot to me and I wasn't sure what to do with it since it is quite heavy, but it is actually very comfortable. This is what I came up with:

The necklace

The Clasp

On me

Matching earrings

Any comments or suggestions about what else I could do with the other, slightly smaller medal I have, are more than welcome...

Thanks Grin
