I haven't posted anything on here in ages! I haven't been crafting too much though, besides some cards and a half finished December Daily..until this! My brother asked me to draw him & I agreed because it's one of my "26 Before 27" goals. (See my blog for details: http://pinkpugink.blogspot.com/2011/04/26-before-27.html )
I definitely want to start drawing more! I'd love to hear what you think!
I'm putting this project here because some of the pages were cut out from cardboard, but if the mods feel it belongs in the scrapbook layouts, feel free to move it!
To make the album, I simply cut the cardboard & overlays to the size I wanted. I added paper & sanded the edges, then added photos & embellishments. Two binder rings hold it together.
Journaling says: "Cinnamon is my lil' love pug because he was born, just for me, on February 14, 2009. He's the best gift I've ever received!"
Journaling says: "Anytime I feel sad, I just look at my lil' monster & I feel better. I wake up with a smile, cause he's licking my face. He makes me laugh when he eats things like grass or dust. I love falling asleep, with him snoring beside me. <3"
Journaling says: "I love how I can always tell what he's thinking because of the look on his wrinkly face."
Here's what I used to make it: Colorbok photo mats, paper & labels; Collage Press cardstock; Making Memories ribbon & button; Hambly overlays; My Mind's Eye paper; Martha Stewart punches; Fiskars punches; & the rest is from the dollar sections of Joann's & Target.
This was my first time making a mixed media book, & there's several things I would have done differently but I think it came out alright for a first try. Questions, comments are welcome.
Lots more great inchies since I've been here last! I especially like Sinjah's & Knickertwist's last sets. Also, I'm glad you all liked the ones I sent! I had so much fun making them & will definitely be making more in the future!
I received from Mfupi the other day but just found my camera so here's the pictures.
My favorite is the one with the fishy. Thanks mfupi!
& thanks to all my wonderful partners for a great swap & some awesome inchies!!!!
I haven't checked this in a couple of days & missed like 6 pages of inchies! I quickly scanned through them & they're all so great! There was a treasure map (by IdlersDesign, I believe) one that jumped out at me- great idea!
I received from taraston & professionalpineapple.
My favorites are the shrinkydink & the underwater ones! Thanks Taraston!
My favorites are the ones with the sheet music material. Thanks Professionalpineapple!
I was away for the weekend & just got back a few hours ago & got my mail from my landlord & my goodies from frogangel were waiting for me! There was so much stuff I needed to take lots of pictures to show it all. I got lots of paper, chipboard cutouts, & stickers.:
And some cards, notepads & buttons, charms, etc:
These are my favorites:
I love the Barbie stickers!! When I was 7 my whole room was filled with Barbie stuff- curtains, bedsheets, lamp, backpack, lunchbox- you name it, it had Barbie on it. & of course I had a ton of Barbies too! Here's a closeup of the teeny tiny charms:
Frogangel also sent a box (folded) but unfortunately it broke during transit. I think it'll still be fine if I tape it up though.
I finally took pictures of my matchbox. I wanted it to have a vintage feel to it, since I've been obsessed with that lately. The only matchbox I had was way too small for the image I wanted to use so I modified this template to make it 2x3: http://www.ruthannzaroff.com/mirkwooddesigns/matchbox.htm.
The rose & tag are attached with foam dots so they stand out.
The top has an eyelet with a loop of ribbon to make it easier to slide open.
When you slide the matchbox open, you see:
Back & side of inside part:
Both parts together:
Ok, enough teasing..what's behind the curtain, you ask?
The surprise is that the outside is nice & the inside is naughty!- something you'd never suspect was hiding in such a mellow package.
