11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / What's the worst mistake you've done while crocheting? on: September 03, 2007 11:35:35 PM
We've all made mistakes while crocheting--maybe some of us thought we could get away with it (that is, until you're 30 minutes to an hour into your work and realize your itty bitty mistake has caused you to unravel your whole work!).

I've had to redo a beanie THREE times because of various miscalculations in counting stitches!  Cheesy

What are your stories?
12  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Just bought Beth Doherty's Amigurumi book! on: August 30, 2007 11:48:33 PM
Just got my hands on this:

So far, I haven't done any of the projects in the book, but I'm a bit disappointed at some of the projects...like the hamburger and the cupcake...I was hoping to get more of the human-animals that she makes...  Sad
13  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Cheapest cotton yarn? on: August 28, 2007 11:28:01 PM
Which is the cheapest cotton yarn that's of good quality? We only get Lion Brand here, so I'm considering getting other brands online...any suggestions?
14  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Are these hooks worth it? on: August 27, 2007 11:13:16 PM
Hi guys! My birthday's comin' up and I was thinking of asking my parents to get me this SOFT TOUCH crochet hook set: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002J5GUI/ref=wl_it_dp/104-4319191-4198353?ie=UTF8&coliid=IQTZMT6O9ZY2A&colid=PCWRP0I08KU5

I just wanted to know if it's worth it (it's got quite a hefty price tag!). I've only used plastic Lion Brand hooks and I wrap a bunch of rubber bands around the thumb rest to make it easier to grip...are these Soft Touch hooks really better for the wrist when it comes to turning, etc?
15  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Monkey cozy pod creature! on: August 26, 2007 07:24:28 AM
I made a Monkey Cozy Pod even though I don't own an iPod! So instead I used my Creative Zen Vision:M for photo purposes. Smiley I will most likely give this to my boyfriend.

I didn't understand how to make the "pocket front" part, so I basically just skipped that. Sad I thought it would ruin the cozy, but I guess it turned out okay...at least I think it did!

16  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Which hook size should I use? on: August 23, 2007 11:22:10 PM
We've got a long, 3-day weekend ahead of us over here in Manila, and I wanted to make this http://cache.lionbrand.com/patterns/HookedBags.htmlbag from the Lion Brand website. It calls for an H and I hook. I don't have those hooks, and was wondering if an F and G hook will do? Would it make a dramatically huge difference if I used an F and G instead of an H and I?  Huh
17  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Help with pattern! :( What's BK LPS? on: August 22, 2007 05:52:02 AM
I'm trying to follow these patterns: http://normalynn.info/freepatterns.html

but I don't know how to do "BK LPS!" can you guys help me, please?  Huh
18  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / is the Singer CG-590 any good? on: August 17, 2007 12:26:00 AM
Hi! Cheesy I currently sew guitar straps with a portable Singer 5430. I want to branch out into working with vinyl and possibly leather...and was thinking of getting a Singer CG-590. I've been reading some reviews online but they all basically just talk of the various features that it has, nothing really from anyone who's USED it.

So has anyone used one? Can you let me know if it's worth getting? Cheesy Thanks! Cheesy

Hi! Cheesy I currently sew guitar straps with a portable Singer (forgot the model number, but it's nothing heavy-duty).

20  CROCHET / Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller / Has anyone tried making the guitar strap? on: August 08, 2007 11:41:02 PM
I kind of want to make the guitar strap, but being a beginner crocheter, I'm a bit scared. Has anyone made one already? And actually hooked it on a guitar? Can you post pics? Sad
