11  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Rainbow Scarf with clouds on: September 24, 2008 04:50:36 PM
Thanks everyone for the great comments!

This scarf is way too easy to need a pattern!  There is only 1 row of each color and each row is done in double crochet.  Remember, the colors of the rainbow are ROY G BIV..Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo, and Violet.  So begin with the violet or red if you wish, and make a chain for as long as you want the scarf to be plus 3 chains for turning, and begin double crocheting the length of the chain.  When you get to the end, tie off and begin with the next color.  Repeat for all colors and the rainbow part is done!

Hi, just a question...do you fasten off and start the next row at the first stitch of the last row, or do you continue on to the back?

So it's like working left to right, then right to left, or do you do every row from the right?

can I suggest something Ainadaliel??? I think that would be so cute for an invitation and I could totally see the bride and groom in different settings outside ... like in the grass with flowers behind or an arch around them with a pretty vine ... or on a rock beside some running water ... in the sand ... in a tree ... I think it would be interesting to see them in different locations close to where you live ... maybe even a shot of them in the church you will be married in! or if it's a nice day than a  shot of them outside the church and someone throwing rice! oh man ... now my mind is just going on and on .... hee hee.
post the pic when you get them done! I'd love to see what it looks like!

Of course, my fiancee will be taking a better photo of them on white, then lay them out in photoshop for our invitations using our color motif. I'll post the final lay-out when he's done. Smiley

I have the book.  But I guess Im the only one thus far to post that I dont like it.  The way she writes the instructions.  "DC evenly around"  I want my instructions to be more straight forward like "Sc 3 times, DC once, Repeat 3 times".  There are some cute things in the book.  But the instructions are what I dont like about the book.  So, it just sits in my closet gathering dust..... Sad

I have to agree! I try to write it out on paper but eventually end up giving up on the project. It's so annoying! It's not like it's so hard to write it out for readers! Quite annoying, really.  Undecided

That makes sense now.

It just doesn't look like the instructions (or how the zig zags were drawn) in the book. That's why it was so confusing.
