kaesea, in case you're not familiar with the term, "HAGS" stands for "Have a good summer". We didn't write that when I was a kid, but my girls' yearbooks are full of that term, and it cracks me up.

THANK YOU! I had no idea what it stood for. Should have just used google -- just found it on the first try!

Those silly kids -- what will they think of next? Wink

Here is the first half of kaesea's journal.

My journal came today! YAY! It's great! I've stacked each spread so that we can see a little more detail on the individual pages... imagine them side-by-side, if you wish. Wink

Without further ado...

From amaryllisroze:

It says Lighting Bugs... bugs...bugs.... and that lace goes along the top of both pages (sorry, I realize this one is hard to tell that it's two separate pages). Love that moon face!

From rackycoo:

I love these pages so much that it hurts! These are yearbook photos and she's doodled on them! Oh, Spence Lemonds! You're so dreamy!! (Hard to see his name, but he's the one with the heart drawn on his photo... of course!)

This spread came with a great little tag:

I'm transported back to middle school, only without the crippling self-doubt and revolting pimples! Thanks, racky!

From Stifflersmom:

This one suffers a bit from my stacking -- it says SEW. I love it -- it's perfect for me! I love, love, LOVE all of the vintage buttons and notions that you used... the pattern for the background... everything!

From Katxena:

Hee hee! Ten-is-shoe! Great work on this spread -- love the shoes and the way it all goes together. The background uses about a million different textures, but they blend perfectly. Fabulous! (Plus, the first shoe is a Converse All Star, which is very near and dear to my heart!)

Aaaand... from goatgoddess:

Hers is the one spread that benefits from my layout -- A is for Art! She used dictionary pages for the background (a personal favorite of mine) and that guy on the left is "standing with arms akimbo!" Love it! Akimbo!

Thanks to all of you -- this was so much fun. Can't wait to see the last few books show up... this swap is an absolute treat!

Wow! It's been so long since I did these pages that I forgot about them completely! I love what everyone has done -- it's great to see what happened to this journal after it left my house!

I'll be sending A-roze's book home to her tomorrow... can't wait to see what everyone's books look like!

This is pretty warped, but a friend of mine did this last year... she got a small alien figurine (from the movie Alien), used fake blood on the front of her t-shirt, and then had the alien busting out. (For those who have not seen the movie Alien, it's a reference to this gruesome scene where an alien baby rips its way out of John Hurt's character's gut.)

For her, the best part of the costume is that she didn't really have to "dress up" other than having the bloody alien stuck to the front of her shirt... that is, no fancy makeup (she didn't put the blood on her face -- just her shirt), she could wear her own pants, etc.

Again, you'll need a warped sense of humor (be prepared to get some horrified looks) but it was pretty great. Plus, at that stage in her pregnancy, I think she did feel like there was an alien in there!

I don't want to fuel the "I want my book! I want my book!" frenzy TOO much, but I gotta post this: I just received amaryllisroze's journal in the mail and it is friggin' AWESOME. It is HUGE and filled with amazing stuff... I can't stop looking at it!

I will try my very bestest to finish it early so I can send it on home to ya -- you're gonna love it!

Oh! I! Am! So! Ex! Cited! I! Can't! Stand! My! Self!

I just finished my spread in Kasea's book, and it is beyond awesome.  I'm so freakin' proud of myself I'm about to bust a gut!  Seriously!  I'm glad there's just one more round of this swap until Kasea gets it!  Grin

All right. Now I am TOTALLY excited! I mean, I was excited anyway, but I can't wait to see what you've done -- I loved the last 2 spreads you did in my book, so if you think you've outdone yourself, well... I'm sure it'll be beyond! awe! some!  Wink
