1  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 52 ENTRIES / Cinderella costume on: July 05, 2010 05:56:36 AM
I just stumbled across this challenge and decided to post a Cinderella dress I made for a Disney Halloween Party a few years ago. Sorry about the awful pics, they were taken before my craftster days so I didn't even think to take a full body shot. I'm pretty sure it says somewhere in the story that Cinderella gets absolutely steaming on her night out, so I did try and recreate this the best I could Roll Eyes

(Me and my friend who dressed as Belle!)

The dress was made the night before halloween 2005 from a king size bedsheet I found in a charity shop, along with two matching pillowcases. I also added a hula hoop ring in the bottom to make it really wide which did look pretty, but I ended up getting stuck between chairs/toilet doors/people a lot that night which resulted in me having to lift up one side of the hoop and trying to flash my bum as little as possible. Obviously didn't think this through haha!

2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Hot Water Bottle Cover on: April 24, 2010 09:16:20 AM
A little while ago I saw a pattern for a nurse plushie somewhere and immediately thought that I MUST make a cover for my mums hot water bottle based on it  Smiley I started sketching straight away and now, a good 4 months later, I finally got around to finishing it. Just in time for the summer, haha. She's got a bit of a conehead, but I guess nobody's perfect!

I'm afraid I can't remember who the original plushie was by...or where I saw it...Would have loved to give her some credit for it  Embarrassed
3  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Bunny Scoodie : ) on: February 20, 2010 03:49:43 PM
As it's normally very cold during Carneval in Germany, and staying warm is equally as important as looking cute when attending the parade, this year I decided my mummy and my daddy could go as bunnies  Smiley

Very much inspired by vegbee's scoodie

As well as purlbee's bunny costume

I came up with this:

(This is actually our Albert modelling the outfit. Don't worry, he always looks this upset...We do love him very much!)

And a family shot:

(I'm afraid I had to buy my daffodil hat)

Hope you like it! x
4  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Welsh Quilt on: January 11, 2010 12:10:23 PM
My boyfriend's lovely dad requested a quilt to tie in with his rugby-themed lounge. Et voila!
(The two lines underneath are the best bit in the welsh anthem-always makes him go even a little more proud to be welsh, bless!)

5  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilt for my uncle on: January 11, 2010 11:59:47 AM
It all started with my mums best friend, who got made a quilt by all her friends for her 50th birthday. My uncle, a graphic designer, had to desing my mums square and pretty much demanded the same present for his 60th... Since I didn't actually know most of his mates, and my uncle is an avid stamp collector, we agreed that every friend and family member should design a special "Hans'-60th-Anniversary" stamp. My eyes kept going zig-zaggy for days after Tongue

Hope you like it x

That's my uncle  Wink

And some close-ups:
(aren't his friends and family talented?! I wish I could draw  Cry )

6  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Quilt for the lovely Lucy <3 on: January 11, 2010 11:29:34 AM
This is the same pattern I used for my cousin's wedding quilt...
This one was made for my dear friend Lucy, but since our little westie is also called Lucy, I think she got a little confused tehe  Cheesy

Again, this quilt was made out of upholstery fabric to make it nice and heavy.

Hope you like it x

7  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Wedding quilt for my cousin on: January 11, 2010 11:21:19 AM
I think this must be my favourite quilt so far...I even made it twice Cheesy

It is pretty much entirely made from upholstery fabric, which makes it super heavy and extra snug i think.

Hope you like it! (even though it has not been ironed tut tut) x

8  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Veeeeery colourful hug in a rug :) on: October 31, 2009 03:48:00 PM
Hello craftsters  Smiley
This is my very first post, seems like I have been lurking for ages and finally got the confidence to show off my work  Roll Eyes

weeeeell, a great friend of mine has been going through a bit of a rough patch lately, and since she lives on the other side of the country I am barely ever able to give her a proper hug when she deserves one... I thought maybe a quilt could help a little.

The main idea was that the quilt should be as colourful and wild as possible, as to hide chocolate stains etc  Roll Eyes so I started with a stamp quilt, but very soon lost the patience, I am still very new to the whole quilting thing and ALWAYS underestimate how long a project will take...

Anyways, the finished product:

And some close-ups:

That's me Smiley

And my friend (who decided to dye her hair back to blonde, arrrrrrgh!)

Thanks for looking, c&c is very welcome (in particular on how to get the lines a bit more straight...  Cheesy)
