Make something for your swap partner that fits in a large plastic easter egg. The approximate measurements we are 2" wide (diameter) by 3" long (vertical diameter) These eggs will probably say jumbo. They are just a little bigger than the standard size. Ideas of things to make might be: keychains, earrings, barrettes, necklaces, a watch, or whatever else you can think of that can fit in the egg. Feel free to decorate the egg to your hearts content.

No other guidelines except try to make something that takes into account the likes of the person you are sending to. The answers to the questions are not meant to be strict suggestions for specific crafts but rather clues to what type of stuff the person likes.

2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / Customize a watch on: March 14, 2005 09:38:11 PM
I have always wanted to customize watch faces with my own artwork, or things I print out or find, but have been too scared to try. Has anyone tried anything like this before?
3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Tea box Rack on: March 07, 2005 12:53:38 AM
I am trying to come up with a tea rack I can mount on the wall to hold all my boxes of tea. I typically have only the Celestial Seasonings brand- they used to sell a wood rack but don't anymore. Any ideas?
4  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / the right glue for the right job on: March 02, 2005 11:52:54 PM
I tried to make a neat thing out of floppy disks.

I needed to stack lots of them one on top of the other and have them all glued together- and stay glued together when you pick up the stack just by the top one.

I tried both tacky glue and a glue gun, but neither held strong enough.

Any suggestions?

I remember seeing a link for a site that helps you find the perfect adhesive for different applications but I can't remember where I saw it. Does anyone know?

Thanks. Smiley I promise to post pics when I'm done.
5  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Fits in an egg swap :) on: February 27, 2005 01:37:29 AM
How about a swap where we make and send something that fits in one of these:

I think you could fit all sorts of interesting things in there, plus the egg shape is inherently protective of its' contents, so you could probably just tape it so it wouldn't come open then pop it in a padded envelope.

I'm thinking I could either make it a easter theme or just ask people general questions so we know we'll send them something they'd want.

What does everyone think?
6  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Embroidery floss organizer on: February 20, 2005 11:43:44 AM
Post your favorite methods/products for keeping your embroidery thread organized and untangled. I just bought about 40 skeins and want to keep them nice.
7  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / I lost my map! on: February 09, 2005 11:14:22 PM
Does anyone know how to get a replacement map for a crossstitch kit?

Nevermind I just found the answer on the Dimensions website. Apparently I just have to e-mail them. Tongue
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / ReadyMade Valentines on: January 11, 2005 07:03:19 PM
http://www.readymademag.com has some great ideas for cute little valentine cards you can make with basic office supplies.  Smiley
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Refelted pool table on: November 26, 2004 10:55:08 PM
I had a pretty cheap pool table I bought at a local store on clearance. I always hated the green felt, so when it got a tiny tear in it, I decided to refelt it! Here's the result:

I love this fabric, it's pimp-a-riffic! It is faux suede and looks a lot more mellow in natural light, but in bright light it looks like crushed velvet (like in the pic).
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Candy cane shotglasses on: November 26, 2004 07:41:45 PM
Has anyone thought of making these?:

I saw them on urban outfitters and while they aren't super-expensive, I only really want them if I can make them myself? Anyone have experience with melting candy canes to mold them?
