Thank you so much, everyone! Cheesy

Leonard Nemoy is seriously such a nice guy!

We arrived late and missed the pictures, and he went out of his way to come take a picture with us, even though it made him late for the autograph signing! <3

Okay - so, a few months ago, a friend of mine asked me to go to a Star Trek convention with her... and she wasn't even planning on dressing up! I took it upon myself to decide that we were going to and sewed us each a dress.

Now, for all of you hardcore trekkies out there - I did make these longer than they were in the show on purpose. I didn't exactly want anything hanging out of anwhere. Haha.  Roll Eyes

What ended up being amazing about the trip - we arrived late (due to horribly wrong directions) and missed pretty much the entire function. However, two of the awesome people working there were able to get us into a room with Spock himself for a picture! <3

Okay. And the pictures:)

First - the inspiration!
My character - Mira Romaine:

And her character, Helen Noel:

Our dresses<3

Me and my dress:)

Both of us - she is a lot taller than me! Haha.
I am no hairstylist, but I tried to get them close to the inspiration characters!

My wannabe "bouffant" hairstyle... so hard to do!

Some action shots! Pardon the girl behind me and her bra hanging out. lol.

And us with Mr. Leonard Nemoy/Spock himself! SUCH a nice guy! Cheesy

Aww! Those are all awesome ideas! I'll have to talk to him to see what he wants to do... I don't want to upset him, but I definitely want to include her. Smiley

So.. I'm not sure how you got the mud/moss in there in the first place, but I was thinking if you were having trouble getting it in without making a mess, what if you got one of those syringes for putting like garlic cloves into roasts - and used it for mud instead? They have a pretty large opening on the end. Or maybe a piping bag for icing? Or one of those bulb basters for cooking (the tube thing with a ball on the end that you squeeze to suck up whatever you need to)?

Just some thoughts I had. :p

Those are beautiful by the way.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Help with men's high collar jacket?? on: September 27, 2009 07:25:37 AM
So, I was watching Trading Spouses the other day (haha) and the daughter of one of the families had this awesome high collar jacket on that my fiance just loved.

I cannot find a picture of it anywhere, or even anything close to it, and I really would love to sew him his own and surprise him with it.

It had a high collar - I'm not sure if that is the right term - it looks like the collar is always 'popped' if you know what I mean.  Tongue The zipper went all the way to the tips of the collar and it had the word Japan on the front.

Anyone know of any patterns that sound similar, or even better, have a tute?

Any way you can help would be freaking awesome Cheesy Hopefully this is the right area to post this. :p

This is the closest thing to what I am trying to describe that I can find:

I just have to join this thread, I have read every page! Lol.  Cheesy

I have been engaged for about 3 months, and our wedding date is 10/10/2010.
Is that cliche? I think it's cute. Haha.

We are going to get married in Vegas, becuase it is only a few hours from home and it is where we got engaged. Smiley

As of now, we know the date, and that the colors will be black and white with dark red accents.

As for my list... hmmm. I need:
---Save the dates
---Invites
---Centerpieces
---Decorations
---Cake
---Cake stand
---A dress!
---Choose bridesmaids
---Argh! Everything! Haha.

This is the dress I am thinking about.

Opinions? Anyone used this site before? They have great reviews, I just want to be sure the reviews are from real customers! Smiley

Any other suggestions are greatly appreciated too! Cheesy
10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: 10.10.2010 - Not your typical Las Vegas Wedding (Picture Heavy) on: August 04, 2009 09:04:35 AM
I want to say - my wedding date is 10/10/2010 too and we are also getting married in Vegas! Lol. What are the chances.  Cheesy

Anyway, since you are most likely having the wedding and reception in the same place, I would recommend setting up the tables on either side of where you would like to have the aisle be, obviously, and maybe the food inside or to the back, against the wall?

Oooh, with you both being theatrical, you should see if you have time/money to build like a small stage for you to stand on when you do the ceremony Smiley

Your centerpieces - are the shades going to be one of the colors, or white? Are they going to be that big, covering most of the glass? Otherwise, you could use a colored candle and maybe colored marbles in the glass.

Just throwing ideas out there. I have no idea what I want to do with my wedding yet, except ours is black and white and red! Cheesy
