I had a lot of fun just in the process of assembling this. Based on a log cabin quilt block with a star.

My first bag  is a patchwork flap hobo-jordy type bag...


Lining and flap lining...


I took the color inspiration from the craftster who recently posted her red heart applique bag with leopard lining- I loved that combo. I added the flap after I used it for a couple of days. I still haven't found a button to close it and the button strap is now on the wrong edge after I added the flap! I'm also thinking of adding a tassle with a charm on the flap to keep it weighted down and maybe adding some painted accents to the red body of the bag.

Constructive critisism needed... I'm going to start on another bag tonite.

This is my first full size afghan that i've completed from the book Romantic Crochet, i think (it is at the library). Except I didn't use the same boring colors from the pattern. I still have to tuck in some of the tails and start a border- but it is usable, FINALLY.  Note: the colors are better in person- especially the yellow - it doesn't photograph well. I've done one other baby size afghan for my sis in law from the yarn  package wrapper that also took me forever.

I'm going to try a plastic bag handbag next after I finish a scarf and some holiday snowflakes for cards.
