Alright, I think you and Tere have convinced me to buy that Rowan book!

Thanks for the beautiful inspiration, girls!

That is GORGEOUS! But perhaps you could clarify what this "spool knitting" is and how one would learn to do it if one wanted to be a total copycat and make a stole just like yours?  Smiley

Wow, Tere, that is SO RAD! You look hot!

I'm glad you liked working with the Polar. It didn't stretch out too much, did it?

Nicely done!

Hmmmm....maybe I *should* start making these for profit . . .

Mwa ha ha ha!!!

Thanks everyone!

I can't believe this book is so hard to get! Someone told me a few weeks ago that it's out of print, but I think they really are just backordered and need to go back to press. Do they have any on the purlsoho.com site?

There is a project for the alpaca silk--the drawstring pouch. That's the first project I made from this book, and it turned out really well.

Ugh, I'm still not knitting! I've just been reading a lot and lying in bed. Luckily my boss is very understanding about the bronchitis issue, and doesn't expect me back til Friday, thank goodness. Thanks for all the well wishes!
xoxo

Wow! I had no idea I had a fan club! I'm *flattered*! Especially since I have been bedridden with bronchitis for several days now, and haven't even bothered to wash my hair or change out of my sweats.  Sad But I think you girls are giving me the confidence I need to get back in the game--after maybe a few more doses of antibiotics, that is . . .

Sadly, I am out of my knitting groove right now. I was going to start the hourglass sweater, but the yarn my mom gave me for Christmas (10 balls of great hot pink baby alpaca) is all wrong for it--too fine and light. Hmmm, maybe I should make myself a hat to get my groove back . . .

Booglass, I can't knit anything complicated at my knitting group either--I get too busy chatting, even if there isn't any wine involved (but there usually is!).
18  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / Re: Layered Soap Help on: January 02, 2005 05:19:03 PM
Wow, I wish I'd read this thread earlier! I made these soaps a couple weeks ago, and had *all* the same problems. Do you think Martha and her crew leave out some of these "tiny" details to insure that we all remain inadequate in comparison?  Wink

Thanks for the tips, everyone!

No problem, Tere, I'm glad it helped! You *are* going to post pictures aren't you? Smiley

The drama! The love! The controversy! The guage questions! Yarn substitutions! This thread is such an emotional rollercoaster and I still haven't knit my hat!!!!!! Hee hee hee.

Lion Brand T & Q is a good sub yarn...yes, yes? Thanks!!!!!

Ha! Now *that* is funny, my friend. Time for a group hug, everyone? You never cease to crack us up, Boo. Now knit your freakin' hat!

Sorry, I don't know about that yarn sub--I've never used it.
