1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Oh How I Miss This Place-striped dress on: December 05, 2010 12:08:49 AM

I haven't posted much in a looooooooong time. Simply because i haven't made anything Sad
But over the Thanksgiving break i decided to tackle something I have never tackled before. SLEEVES.

So this is my first sleeved item and might I add I like the way it came out and looks quite normal. Being that i don't measure anything for the sake of laziness and impressive knowledge of my own body measurements, one sleeve was longer than the other. But I cut it and re-hemmed it! Problem solved!

I also wanted the stripes on the sleeves to purposely NOT line up but I kinda failed at that.

Well if anyone has tips on tackling a sleeve please share!
Questions. Comments. Concerns always greatly appreciated.

Might I also add that I LOVE STRIPESSS!!  Grin
2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / CHANEL Logo on: August 27, 2010 09:00:01 PM
I was bored... (Thats usually how all my projects start off haha) and I had a GIGANTIC Sharpie marker (exaggeration) and a blank white cotton tee shirt. I cut the sleeves off and decided to make a graphic tee. The design being the Chanel logo. Not to mention that my name is Chanel  Grin

Comments. Questions. Concerns. I love them all. Leave them all.

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Romper! on: August 08, 2010 04:54:51 PM
My previous post I made my first pair of shorts even in spite of my fear of failing miserably.

So today I decided that I would try something else. A romper! I've been meaning to purchase one forever, but whats even better is I made this one myself =)

I'm okay with the way it came out. The top could have came out better, I wish I had more material (used all scraps haha). I also love working with elastic! For some reason to me sewing it on to the fabric is so delightful lol

More dressed up:

Comments. Questions. Concerns. Please & Thank you =) Grin
4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / First Pair of Shorts on: August 02, 2010 10:13:52 AM
I've been contemplating for years on whether or not I should tackle one of my biggest sewing fears - shorts/pants.

Finally I came to the conclusion that I must fail from time to time in order to get better. SO in reality I was expecting for my first pair of shorts to be a fail...
And to my surprise it didnt come out so bad!

I used an old pair of high waisted jeans as a pattern.

I don't know why I was so afraid, but for now on you shall see alot more shorts/pants.

Oh the only problem with this (well its kind of a big problem making them unwearable) is that the crotch can get a little crotchy lmao. In other words the camel toe effect. I had a feeling this would happen because the pants I used for the pattern did the same thing. I thought it was because the pants were too small, so I made sure to make the shorts bigger, but from the looks of it I guess I either duplicated it or this pattern just SUCKS haha.

But its a great start for my first pair.

Questions. Comments. Concerns. All appreciated. Thanks for looking!

6  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Sexy Black Dress + Reddish Summer Dress on: July 28, 2010 05:06:51 PM
I needed a dress for a party on Saturday, and I am trying to make it so that whenever i wear a dress, it was made by me! I hate patterns, and I dont use them Okay maybe I used a pattern once or twice...but it really didnt go so well, I tend to do better making things as I go and learning from my mistakes. So here is the dress:

I made this reddish dress maybe a week ago, it originally was this :
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=351907.0
But that dress wasnt up to my satisfaction, and my sister didnt need it anymore (proms over lol) So i cut it up and ended up with this:

Which I am pretty happy with compared to the originally dress ( but I think thats because I get to wear it now Wink hehe)
I can wear it nearly anywhere! Even to sleep haha.
Anywhoo, Tell me what you guys think! Questions! Comments! Concerns! Greatly Appreciated! Grin
7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Summer Tops! on: July 10, 2010 07:47:37 PM
So I have tons of use-able scrap material lurking around so I decided to design some new tops. My goal is to have ten and so far I have five so stay tuned for more!

Top # 1

This is rather a recon. It was originally a long skirt, I ended up making two shirts very similar looking.
Top # 2

This variation has more of a sleeve.
Top# 3

I have a small obsession with crop tops and thought of this snazzy number. (my favorite of all of them!) The straps you can tie in anyway (preferably a bow), its very sweet!
Top#4

This originally did not have the zipper but i couldnt get it past my boobs! (haha) So  thought oh i have a red zipper that I have been dying to use. I love the clashing colors!
Top # 5

Another crop top, but this time a pretty blue lace. The bottoms are a recon. It was a skirt i turned into some shorts. (You cant really see it) The whole thing was done quickly and is pretty raw.

But anyways thanks for looking! And please leave questions, comments or suggestions!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Two Toned Dress on: July 01, 2010 05:11:08 PM
Its summer and  have been bored lately. So i whipped up this dress in 5 mins. Used a tank top as a pattern and just sewed the sides together. The belt isnt attached because I feel like I can do more with it. So in the meantime the scrap piece will do.

Its not really finished. No hemming. Nice and raw.(But i think I like it that way) Plus it turned out way shorter than I intended. Any suggestions on how to fix that?

Oh and the dress can be turned around. Very versatile!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Blue Shapes on: July 01, 2010 01:34:58 PM

I felt like cutting shapes ... So the results were :

It didnt come out quite like I dreamed (haha yes i dream about what I want to make in the future) Well that was because I wanted the whole back in uniform squares. But I got lazy and they just turned out like this.  Though it wasnt what I envisioned, I still love it <3

Tell me what you guys think. Questions and Comments are appreciated.  Cheesy

10  CLOTHING / Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects / Sisters After Prom Dress on: June 25, 2010 02:26:47 PM
So I made an after prom dress for my sister, for her prom this year.
It was a hard task because I have never made anyone clothing before (other than myself) So of course fitting was a nightmare.

I ended up making the boob cup too small. So because it was a last minute thing I just placed a sash under her boobs haha. Good idea huh?

I wasnt very satisfied but it had to do!

Tell me what you guys think!!!  Smiley
