I haven't posted much in a looooooooong time. Simply because i haven't made anything
But over the Thanksgiving break i decided to tackle something I have never tackled before. SLEEVES.

So this is my first sleeved item and might I add I like the way it came out and looks quite normal. Being that i don't measure anything for the sake of laziness and impressive knowledge of my own body measurements, one sleeve was longer than the other. But I cut it and re-hemmed it! Problem solved!

I also wanted the stripes on the sleeves to purposely NOT line up but I kinda failed at that.

Well if anyone has tips on tackling a sleeve please share!

That's how my projects start too!     You're really working that top, it looks great on you!  You did a nice job with the placement of the logo etc and the style suits you!  My nickname is Jazz, I think that's men's cologne or something, maybe I should check that logo out too, you have inspired me

I was bored... (Thats usually how all my projects start off haha) and I had a GIGANTIC Sharpie marker (exaggeration) and a blank white cotton tee shirt. I cut the sleeves off and decided to make a graphic tee. The design being the Chanel logo. Not to mention that my name is Chanel

Yes its a cotton jersey fabric

been looking at lotsa romper tutorials lately
this one is so cute
hope i can make my own one day, but no sewing machine *sigh*

For a while I didnt use my sewing machine (because I didnt know how) but surprisngly you can do alot with just hand sewing. Making a romper is probably one thing (well minus the elastic)

great job! i saw your post with your first shorts too and they are awesome. i also read that you were having trouble with the crotch area with your first shorts. i didnt learn this for a while but when drafting the pattern yourself if you make to curve of the crotch seam to shallow or too deep (as in one is to much like a \ and the other is too much like a L) then it can make the crotch weird. try adjusting it either way until you get it just how you like it.

My previous post I made my first pair of shorts even in spite of my fear of failing miserably.

So today I decided that I would try something else. A romper! I've been meaning to purchase one forever, but whats even better is I made this one myself =)



I'm okay with the way it came out. The top could have came out better, I wish I had more material (used all scraps haha). I also love working with elastic! For some reason to me sewing it on to the fabric is so delightful lol

Awesome!

I've been contemplating for years on whether or not I should tackle one of my biggest sewing fears - shorts/pants.

Finally I came to the conclusion that I must fail from time to time in order to get better. SO in reality I was expecting for my first pair of shorts to be a fail...
And to my surprise it didnt come out so bad!



I used an old pair of high waisted jeans as a pattern.



I don't know why I was so afraid, but for now on you shall see alot more shorts/pants.

Oh the only problem with this (well its kind of a big problem making them unwearable) is that the crotch can get a little crotchy lmao. In other words the camel toe effect. I had a feeling this would happen because the pants I used for the pattern did the same thing. I thought it was because the pants were too small, so I made sure to make the shorts bigger, but from the looks of it I guess I either duplicated it or this pattern just SUCKS haha.

But its a great start for my first pair.
