4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pencil Case on: August 12, 2009 08:02:52 PM
now, i dont know if this belongs in this catagory or not but here goes nothing!! XD

This is my first ever Project Post!! WEEE!

so i decided that since every bag i have ever bought for school has FAILED me, and i have tired of the shoulder pains you get from messenger bags from carrying LOADS of books. because im starting college this next week i have come up with a solution! MAKE MY OWN BACKPACK! now.... this post isnt a backpack... i have not yet completed it yet i did not have the zipper yet but i do have it now so ill get sewing on that now, but for 20 bucks i bought 2 yards of denim and 1 1/2 yards of this other fabric that i have bought before for a commission (i loved the way it looked) given the EXTRA fabric i decided to make 1 standard sized backpack, and with the remnants i have created a few various accessories, like a pencil case, a binder cover, and a laptop case! =)

here is the first of the 4 posts my pencil case!! enjoy!!

5  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Fabric questions for a future cosplay project- Sailor Moon- on: January 17, 2009 07:03:34 PM
ok, my question is what type of fabric i should use, i was told that Ponte Roma Knit would be ideal for the skirts, pleating wise... but it does not come in all of the colors that i need. this is the picture of the scouts i need to do and the colors=>

its not all that big of a picture, but you get the idea.... hopefully- if you could suggest the perfict fabric.... or a pretty good one... maybe.... this is what i found so far.... Knits Solid Interlock and Knit-Ponte they are the only fabrics that come in the colors i need....  but im not sure how exactly they will act. HELP PLEASE?
6  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / sailor moon cosplay anyone?? HELP!! on: September 05, 2008 02:44:16 PM
Hey there, im a new user! although im familar with posting in forums... this is fun!

anywho- i am experienced in sewing and love to sew in my free time!! but i am having problems- it has been my greatest desire to do a sailor moon cosplay project since i was five, i am now 18 and am trying to realize my dream! im sure i can complete this project by late june which is when i need it for but i cannot find a pattern for it.

the outfit has a middy style collar, which my teacher warned me not to attempt without a pattern >.< however the only pattern i could find for the sailor scouts or with the middy style collar was for children, XS to be exact- i would REALLY like some help for this! i am a really good seamstress and would enjoy to attempt it. if anyone has an idea of how to go about it... maby a line design of a pattern peice i could enlarge, any hints perhaps please PM me!

this is a link to the picture of exactly what i want to make back and front views-(plus more actual pics of the character i want to be.
