8921  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: WATCH the BALL DROP....Altiods tin swap sign 11/25 - 11/30 on: December 05, 2008 04:51:42 PM
I'm guessing no.  I'm putting in some non crafted things as well,  but I'm kinda going craft happy.  I haven't had a reason to be crafty in years! I'm loving it!
8922  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Question for all Ashford Traveler owners on: December 05, 2008 02:32:09 PM
Is there a trick to the tension on the break band, or is it just really finicky?  I have to tweak it throughout my spinning.   I find I either get yarn that feeds to quickly and doesn't twist much or yarn that is sooooo twisty, and doesn't feed fast enough.  Thats all in one chunk of wool too, so nothing is ever very even....  My wheel is 10 years old, but had really never been used (she bought it and then never did much spinning.  I guess she didn't find as fun as I do)  So maybe the age of it makes a difference to the answer of this question.
8923  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 12-5-2008 on: December 05, 2008 08:08:54 AM
Its been a couple weeks since I posted, but I got stuck on this yarn here:
Its the  Roving I named Swamp, a few weeks ago, spun up with some roving I dyed with coffee.  I got stuck on it, simply because I really don't like it.  I was getting sick of the colors so I didn't want to look at it.  finally figured I should just get it over with lol!  ANyway I ended up with 160~ yards of it. *bleck*

And something I did a while back but hadn't posted yet.  Just plain old wool some of it is fat most of it is skinny.  aprox~104ish yards

Great yarns everyone!  Happy fiber friday!

again sry about the crapy web cam shots... one day I'll figure out how to make my pics .2 mb smaller >.>

I made a model altoids tin from the measurments that Bab posted on the first page, and started to fill it with all the goodies I have made so far and it seems quite empty.....  Some things turned out smaller then I thought they would though.. But I will make more!  Plenty of time left! woo!
8925  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Icing dilemma: 1M swirls cracking on: December 04, 2008 10:45:53 AM
okay, my guess is air bubles on the sides of the bag,  between the bag or tip and the icing.   Have you tried squeezing abit out before you  go onto the cupcake?  Because if the middle seems to even out and be smooth, then maybe Jinjeet Phoenix is also right about the pressure, Maybe to much at the begining, and you even out towards the middle?

BTW, I love the one with the icing rose.  I'm always afraid to try petals.

geeze! thats crazy! over 2 bucks!! wowza!  I went on ebay and bid 2$ on 9 empty tins(auction closes today, don't you all go and out bid me now Tongue!).  though I dont think they'll get to me before the 15th, so i'll still send my mini tin.

what exactly do you mean by cracking?  Are there tiny( or not so tiny) air bubbles in the icing that might cause this?  If you could get a pic of the cracking it might clarify the problem.  then you might get better answers then mine lol

Please don't give my partner negative feedback for her type of tin, she says she doesn't have the right kind, and I'm totally cool with it.

I had to search, but I found some! I bought a couple so I have some in store for futre. This is fun! I've already finished part of mine. I think I'll go out on another supply run to get that certain.. je ne sais quoi that it's missing.

Your Partner is the ONLY on in this swap that has a little different tin...same thing just a tad smaller...She is the ONE I said in the last thread has the OK!! SHe is good no worries....Yeay for partners taht sitk up for eachother...Yeah..I will dawn you now...Brusier....LO L.ROTFL....Love it....

Thank you for letting me use a diffrent tin Bab!  I was so darned excited to join a swap, then when I couldn't find a tin,  I nearly cried!   My plan is to make a model altoids tin and fill it, and that way Retro_Rose doesn't get jipped on inner goodies!  Mine tin is to much smaller then an altoid tin, that I would feel bad giving her that much less.

Holy crap Belladune, I'm so excited to start on your tin! Cheesy I love that your wants matched up to what I wanted to make, ever so convenient! I hope I make you as giddy to see it as a tickle-me elmo with a rubber band around it's waist. Wink (Get it? Perpetual giggles?   ... Yah kay I'm totally lame.)

I'm getting my supplies tomorrow, I have Monday/Tuesday off work. Let me know if you can converse with me via msn, I am on regularly after 9pm most days. Its much easier for me than on here.

Ahaahaa!1!!  Tickle me elmo with a rubber band around his waist!!
Also I'm not on MSN.... at least not anymore.  We've got Macs and I've still to find a mac friendly version of MSN  But I could get cracalakin on that again.
HAHA  So it turns out I do have MSN for Mac.. I apparently came with the Microsoft office we bought last week .....  I'm such a nub. ;p

wooo!  yay for partners!   I'm itching to get finished now!  Turns out you matched me with a good partner,  Retro_Rose.  I think she'll like what I already started on... teehee XD
