I just found a site that is canadian (and being canadian, I like to shop canadian-no surprise exchange rate LOL)  and their pricing and shipping are great!!  they even stock yak and camel fiber!!! too much fun!  gotta wait until payday in may though, which works out well for the swap wooo!

haha! I suppose it definitly doesn't make sense if you live where the cruise is.  Though I'm sure they would do other cruises to different ports at a different time.

I got my price quote back, and its range is fairly normal for an Alaskan cruise.  Ocean view rooms starting at about 800$/person.   I kind of expected it to be more for some reason.  I'm sure there are cheaper deals out there, but this is something I think we'd both enjoy, because lord knows I really don't have any interest in hanging out in a casino while at sea.

I spent 2 hours last night carding alpaca- my first experience carding. I now have 20 rolags- I just need to figure out how to spin them.  Smiley

LOL I was doing the same thing this weekend!  But I came away itchier then all heck..... I think I might be allergic to alpaca :*(

Grin ..........That's crazy funny!  Reminds me of the time my ex had just finished building a deck...........and was walking barefoot on it bragging at what a good job he done sanding...............yup...........you guessed it...........the mother of all splinters ended up embedded in his big toe.............and I was laughing so hard he got pissed and said verbatim:
"You're really enjoying this aren't you?!"

ROTFL...........and I was too.......... Wink ...........you'd a thought he cut his whole foot off with the whining he was doing.............. Grin

Great job on the cushion bella...........I love it!  And who knows..........if he gets on your nerves maybe you can use it like a voodoo doll......... Cheesy............I can see him cringing everytime you stick a pin in it............LOL

Ahahahaa!!!! yeah I couldn't help but laugh at the time too.  And I've tried using as a voodoo doll!  doesn't work though... ah well.... Wink   But thank you for the compliment!

HAHAHA poor hubby ... but great pin cushion!

So, has anyone ever heard of these "Craft Cruises"?  I came across this at the joy of handspinning site:

And heres the clincher my husband has wanted to go on an alaskan cruise for quite some time.  I have absolutely no interest in seeing Alaska(I'm sure its beautiful.  But we live about 12 hour drive from Yukon(which borders Alaska)  I've had enough of the cold.)  And this would be a great compromise!!  I could take some spinning classes,  And he would get his alaskan cruise!   But before I go ahead and get everything together to go do this, I want to know if any spinners/craftsters have ever done one of these cruises?  Or would you do something like this?  The site makes you give your email to get pricing info, so I don't yet know the price.
