8452  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Blending fibres? on: May 28, 2009 05:44:58 PM
if you lack any equipment, the best thing to do is draft them together, but you might get a barber pole effect if you aren't careful about it.  They had an article of how to blend with no equipment in Spin Off....  where'd i stick that magazine.....  gosh who knows.  If I can find it, I'll let you know.  But its the winter 2008 issue.  I don't if you'd be able to find it in the  library where you are, but you might.

Thanks Cyndi!  It all feels very smooth, like a roving would.  There's still a lot of VM in it.  But that wont be hard to deal with while I'm carding anyway.  If I scour a bit of it, I should see the lanolin in the water then I would know for sure right?
Is it friday yet?  I'm sooo wanting to get working with this wool, but I want to know my partners color preferences before I start dyeing!

In total there is 6lbs 3oz of different fiber there.  There's a bag of merino hiding behind the bag of Shetland 'sliver' too.
