8422  COOKING / Dessert / Re: Worlds Most Dangerous Chocolate Cake on: May 30, 2009 09:31:54 PM
there was a post a while back on here about his kind of cake a few months ago.  We tried it, and yes it was rubbery, but I'm sure mine turned out overcooked (new microwave, wasn't sure of the power, apparently it has alot.)  Anyway, funny part about it was that the Hubby and I couldn't stop eating it, and even made a second one, even though we agreed it was kind of an aweful cake.  but hey.  It is a 3 minute cake, so really, can't go wrong imo!

its much to late for me to be having a milkshake, bu I want to try this.  could the reason it tastes better be because it has less air in it?
8425  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Monkey Bread ~no actual monkeys harmed in the making~ on: May 30, 2009 09:14:21 PM
Shocked o.m.g.  that looks absolutely fan-frinken-tabulous!!!!!!  Shocked
this could be made with a homemade bread or biscuit recipe, couldn't it?  We never have those refrigerated biscuits.  but I'm willing to bet it would be good with homemade bread to.  Are these biscuits you are using a baking powdr biscuit, or a yeast based biscuit?  cause I want me some monkey bread!!!!!!!!! Grin Grin

8428  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Question on Oven Dying on: May 30, 2009 08:47:53 PM
Okay.  So I have all that fabulous fiber wanting to be dyed.  I only have one pot.  What if I were to get some old pickle jars(which are sitting in my basement), fill them with fiber(pre soaked of course), pour in the dye(carefully and slowly to prevent spilling), and then stick em in the oven.  I can likely fit at least 6 jars in there(if not more), and likely get 2oz in each jar if I stuff it.  Will this work, and if it will, how hot can I go?  about 250?  I think my oven will go as low as 170`F.  And how long should I leave it?  30 mins?
Or, do you think the pickle jars will explode?  I want to dye it all now and I cannot wait for my one sorry pot to do 4oz of fiber at a time. LOL
Hopefully someone out there will have an answer for me!
