LOL   Kids see everything you think they can't.  My child finds everything we hide, or even hide in plain sight.  I think its one of those nature things.... its built in to be sneaky LOL

I started with food dyes because I had to use the same pots as I cook my kids food in.  now that I have my own pots which don't touch food, I'm going with professional acid dyes.

they make powdered food colorants?   I might have to hunt some down for my cake decorating.

SML thats funny that your postman got mad that you wait there.  Like really are you chewing him out for not unloading fast enough, or is presence in general enough to make him antsy Tongue  just kidding!  Also, I can't go anywhere I want to look with my children.  Its Walmart only and whats on the list.  in and out, thats the only way I can shop with my boys in tow.  Oldest is 4.  it has yet to get better......

oddacity, yay for your fiber arrival!  and yay for dyes!  those wiltons do go quite a ways actually, depending on how intense you want you color.

I know the lady who sold me her wheel has a drum carder (but I think its electric), probably about 10 yrs old, but like her wheel, she barely used it, so she wants LOTS of money for it.  And at this point, with a fat income tax owing  Cry Cry,   likely wont be getting it for a while.  Hopefully I can find one cheaper(like 150$)

The reason I chose food coloring first is simply because all you need is vinegar.  two things you use in your food normally.  But now I've got a pot for dyeing, and really, my kitchen is to big.  So I'm diving into the more crazy stuff.  The worst part is cleaning up after myself LOL  Dyeing is lots of fun!

I'm trying Ahsford dyes.  hopefully they are good. I got them because it was an 11 color pack.  I'm not so good at combining colors to get what I want.   So far I've only tried koolaid, wiltons food colors, and RIT dyes.  they all do the trick,  but again, only a certain selection of colors, and then there's the color fastness factor too.....
Anyone used the Ashford dyes before?
