This is hysterical and disturbing at the same time.  Love it!

Awesome! thank you!  I'm glad someone shares my sense of humour!   Don't get me wrong, I felt bad for him.  But its was a terribly funny tragedy!

I've got that spindle.  But I bought a wheel really quickly too, so the spindle has been more of a toy to find out what smaller sections of fiber I should spin to get what results.   I only have ever spun singles, then plied them on a spindle.  I still find it tricky to do anything fancy on the wheel, so I'm not sure how tricky it is on the spindle.  But I will say that a straight up single is pretty easy!

I have to admit I was SUPER grossed out by the thumbnail of the pic o the pincushion, but obviously intrigued enough to look! Its so cutely awesome, and I feel for your man! his poor foot.

Seconded!!  But you did a great job, it looks sooooo realistic!  Here's to living happily and craftily ever after!

LOL!!!!  you were both grossed out!?!  thats so funny!  But thank you for the complements!

This reminds me of my father.
If there was a pin anywhere in the room, it would end up in my father's foot.
Nobody elses, and it didn't matter how many other people had walked in the same spot before him.

I like it - maybe my dad needs this  Wink

I'll have to tell my Husband he's not the only one who steps on pins!  Thank you!

I love this - is it a really big likeness to teh young mans foot???
and is that the location of where the pins attacked his poor foot???

Thank you! Its mildly a likeness, its a bit more 'hairy' then the real thing,  but there is hair on his foot none the less LOL  And yes, that is where the pins hit his foot!

Hahah! Oh man, I know exactly how your poor fella feels. I have such awful luck with pins. I have stepped on my pincushion before too.  Roll Eyes

I love the new pincushion though, and the back-story is cute! In the thumbnail on the main page, I thought it was of some drawing of a rotted foot, or something equally awful.

Thank you!  I'm glad the thumbnail was intriguing!   And, your poor foot.  My husband was limping for a few days after that happened.  apparently it was no fun.

Once upon a time lived a crafty maven.  She shared an apartment with her beau.  This lovely young man put up with all the clutter craftiness brought, with very little complaint.  Until one day tragedy struck!  A pin cushion had fallen off the table and onto the floor. ~~ Now this pin cushion was poorly designed, as it was terribly thin, and both sides were mere cloth.~~  The Mavens beau walked past the table and stepped on the pincushion!  He fell to the ground, crying out in agony!  The Maven rushed to his side and tried to remove the mass of pins from his foot.  But alas, she failed.  With a second attempt the pins came free, though the young man was still terribly upset.  The young man did come to forgive the Maven.  And they lived happily ever after.

Now thats a true story.  And it lead to the crafting of this:
Note the hairy toes, and foot-

Side view, complete with pins

Front view

and how it is to be used, pins go in the bottom!

enjoy.  I hope it brings you as many chuckles as it did me!

I am mildly confused as to why it comes under him.  But It does look very well put together, and sturdy.
