7921  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / To make my own WPI..... on: September 13, 2009 01:14:34 PM
Okay so I'm mildly confused here.  I want to make a WPI tool.  Here I am searching methods and coming up with things that confuse the snot out of me.  example:  One site says to take a 1/4 dowel and mark 1 inch and wrap.  Next site says take a piece of wood that is one inch tall by 6 or so inches long and mark off 1 inch and wrap.  Now maybe it's just perspective, but would that not yield two different counts? I'd test it out if I had the mats at hand, but my chance of getting to a hardware store is slim atm... Does anyone have a pattern or link to a pattern for one of these?

(and yes, I know a standard ruler would work just fine, but I want to make something perty... cause I'm intoxicated with spining tools to.. not just spinning...)

eeeeee!  Squee!  I so jealous of your find Freestyle!!  The Lady who has a drum carder sitting in her basement wont part with it for less then 500$.....  le sigh....  Still on the search for one myself,  but in the mean time I'll live vicariously through pics of your delicious batts.

My question here is how do you see beyond the buttons?  or do you have to take them off to see?  A friend of mine lives in the Pink Palace (seriously.) We are doing up her home with a Pink Palace sign and bobinsky sign... and other small touches I'm sure, but we are also lost on the eyes bit, since she will be  the other mother, handing out candy... Cheesy  We may just paint on some buttons though.  We'll see what comes of the answer to seeing thru the buttons.

7930  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Discussion and Questions / Re: September Felt-along - preparing for OCT 3rd. International felt-bombing on: September 11, 2009 04:51:34 PM
that tag rocks.  Is it mac compatible, or am I going to have to visit the local internet "cafe" to print those off?

It was made on a mac so it should be fine - there shouldn't be a reason why it doesn't work with mac or windows.
It was pretty easy to put together - but I knew I wanted something quite simple right from the start.

awesome.  I'll pm you Smiley
