7491  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Making Soft, Fluffy/Fuzzy Yarn on: February 24, 2009 10:04:40 AM
I did the same thing as nicolassa, but with lincoln locks.  I've tried making fuzy yarn that looks sort of  like what you posted, but failed misserably, and have yet to try again.  heres my version though, its a bit diferent then nicolassa's.

(also sorry, thats been posted before too.)

I'm thinking if you have a couple lace weight singles (or even thread....) you would get closer to what your after.  And probably if you had a shorter staple of fiber it would be easier to get more fuzzyness.  or at least with the way my brain works i think that will work.
7492  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Swirly Rug! on: February 24, 2009 09:52:19 AM
that is sooooooo gorgeous!  i'm going to have to look into this too, find that giant purple and yellow jaquard weave blanket I have and give it a go at replicating the patern on a rug....  I wonder how long it would take, if I spun the yarn I used first............ >.>

Ugh! I hate Ben! He's such a sneaky f*ck! LoL!

But he's played so well!  Its not that I like Ben as a person, I like him as a character.  But theres more to him then we know I think.
