7321  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Phineas and Ferb Swap? on: January 27, 2010 07:01:02 PM
Gosh I love Phineas and Ferb  "hey, where's Perry?"  and if I could spell his name.. Duckenshmirfs (?) evil inc. shirt would be freakin awesome, of course for my boy, but yes. I'm in on this one if the sign ups are closer to the mid-end of Feb... hopefully I'll beable to get to my sewing machine and other craft supplies by then Smiley  Oh and it'd be easier for me if it was a smaller swap, but eh, I might dive in anyway.

who knew Latin could be so vulgar!  Love the hearts and flowers you put on there, it makes it seem so innocent, if you don't know latin. Smiley
7323  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: First spinning attempt! on: January 27, 2010 01:52:23 PM
mmm yum!  newby yarn!  Looks like my first attempt!  predrafting will help with the thick thin situation.  Jane Doe will be adressing this in the next lesson  Inez mentioned.  But it's basically pulling the roving out  a bit lengthwise.  but look up the artofmeagan on youtube. she has great videos.  It's how I learned how to spin.
7324  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: Learn To Spin 2010: Source your tools on: January 27, 2010 01:40:31 PM
Llisaredd, you appear to have roving, not batts.  Generally batts are rectangular chuncks of blended fibers.  The stuff that comes in big long strips is either roving or top, and as far as I remember top generally is only one fiber... There is a picture of all the types of fiber preparations on the first page of this thread.  But it's easy to be mistaken, especially when you are first beginning.  Smiley

7326  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Re: Quick and easy bassinet/changing pad cover on: January 26, 2010 01:38:27 PM
Not yet, Belladune ... I decided not to be induced, and now she's four days past the due date. My mom keeps telling me that all of us kids (five of us) were at least two weeks late -- one of my sisters was three weeks late! I hope she doesn't take that long -- I don't know if I can stand it -- but maybe now I'll have time to make the diaper bag and diapers ...

good for you waiting it out.. its hard, but my first boy was 12 days overdue, ended up induced anyway.  So you may have alot of time to make that diaper bag and diapers!

7329  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: fiber fat book--along on: January 25, 2010 12:42:59 PM
Thanks! It's not at all what I imagined it would look like when I started Cheesy
that being said, do you like it as much, or more, or not nearly as much as how you envisioned it?
I personally love it.  It's wonderful and inspirational.
