I may be a last minute signer-upper....

I pulled all the FO's together, and if I didn't really want to send one little extra, I'd be good to go.. but I know (insert partners name here) will love the one little extra so I'm still impatiently waiting on supplies.. just one thing I didn't already have... and I could have made said supply, but then thats a really big mess and theres no point in doing only one, so if I was to make said supply, then I'd better do a whole bunch, cause why make a huge mess for one thing right?  But atm i'm not inspired to make more then one and I'd hate to waste supplies on making supplies.... (confused yet?)  Easier to buy Smiley  so I did and it shipped last satrurday, so it should be here today or monday, then I'll be set Smiley

My Nephew and My sisters birthdays are 9 days apart.  I was put in charge of both cakes Smiley  My sis helped me out with the Pablo cake, and decided fondant is not nearly as terrible to work with as she expected.   That's what I told her Smiley
Her cake was her favorite color and flower.  She turned 30 btw... I just didn't paint the number on her cake

ooh exciting.. polymer clay!  I envy people who can sculpt things.. I try and fail miserably... unless I'm playing with wool and a needle.. which I don't know why that method speaks through me better.. anyway...  yay for something fun with polymer clay!
7218  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Completed Projects / Re: Sharpie Dye Color Bursts on: November 11, 2009 02:21:09 PM
this project may be a tad bit beyond my 4 yr old... at least the dripping of the alcohol onto the fabric.  coloring the fabric, however wasnt.. he just soaked one spot causing the ink to not spread very well.. but eh, I can let him draw on fabric and I'll do the driping LOL

One tip was to use a spray bottle for the alcohol.  Your 4-year old might not care if you just do the dripping.  Wink  It takes a moment for all the colors to swirl and bleed.  We found that it was boring to use only one color so we used combinations of colors instead.

mm spray bottle may have been easier for him.. we could count how many sprays we need to get our desired effect...  Great idea!

What fun!  The Sharpie people just contacted me about this project on my blog!  This makes me wonder how the Sharpie people even know about my blog....

thats sweet!  I take it was good feedback from them?  how exciting, maybe they'll give you a life times suply of sharpies!

that's neat, does it hang on the wall, then you stick a flower in it?  if that's the idea, I think it's pretty neat, and you need to make a set of 3... then trade me Smiley
