She's wonderful! I was tempted to make doll of my children like this.....  but I think they are to young to fully understand there is no Other Mother LOL... but I just might use the pattern once you get to it, to make them for some older children I know Smiley

awesome!  My son has been asking me if he can try the spindle I have, but it's pretty heavy, so we ordered some spindles, similar to yours, and now he wants to paint his Thomas too!! He's 4.5 so I hope he gets it Smiley

I keep thinking of how full and wonderful Fiber Friday is going to be.  and that is one of the most exciting things about this.  a year ago we were getting 6 pages of fiber.. now we are lucky to get 2... I know I haven't spun in ages so I'm not helping the situation, but this is good incentive for me to practice drop spinning.

I know this seems simple, but I didn't think I'd come up with local sources for wool this way.  I just looked under Wool in the yellow pages....  It worked!  So if you haven't tried it yet, grab the phone book.  It was a heck of alot easier then the internet for me.

that's a brilliant idea KLKing!  I have a bunch of samples like that somewhere from when I took fashion design, and they are handy to have.

Those pages are absolutely beautiful!!
I had a dream last night.  About these pages.  I've decided on a Botany theme for my pages.  they will be double sided too. I'm going to research poisonous plants and do some quilting, aplique and embroidery to achieve all this... now just to wait until I can do stairs to reach  my fabric... darn c-section  Undecided

so I searched etsy for drop spindles and found some small lace weight spindles for 4$ each  Shocked  so with shipping, it was only 13$.  And thanks to the strong Canadian dollar, this translated into 13.98$  wooohoo!  way better then the 20$ I paid for my ashford student spindle...  This is where I got them:  http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?ref=vt_related_1&listing_id=38965360
nice thing about them is I can paint them and finish them how I want, which is awesome.  Can't wait to get them and start making lace weight and spin that cotton (not a beginner fiber I know, but I'm not to much a beginner, but still need to learn a heck of a lot more which is why I'm following along...)
