Thanks everyone!

I had the idea to make jewellery out of yarn, but for a while I couldn't get my head around how to do it, and get the results I was after.  One day, it all clicked, and here's the results.  Beads, silk wire, thread and a couple finding. They are pretty stunning, if I do say so myself. Wink

Necklaces:

Thanks for looking!
43  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Fibre Swap-May2014 - Fluffiest gallery ever on: June 06, 2014 12:14:56 PM
I've been without internet since monday! *Gasp*  I have no idea how I'm surviving, and I'm glad my weekend is jam packed, since we won't have internet again until Monday!!

Anyway, I'm at the office, and I have pictures of the glorious fibre I received from Honeyd!

First up, the extras!  So spoiled.  Angora bunny fluff and Cotswold locks!

And the dyed goodies!  Such gorgeous colours. I love them so much.  I'm unsure if I'm going to spin them straight, or blend, of what. But they are great and soft  and wonderful.  Wensleydale, tussah and firestar!

Thanks so much, honeyd!! It's perfect.

And that wrap up this swap!! Shall we wait until fall for the next round?

46  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Re: Fiber Friday 30 March 2014 on: June 01, 2014 08:20:03 AM
Some mills will add oils to their fibres while processing.  Maybe this mill just added to much?

Finishing silk over steam is awesome to watch. I highly recommend it, if any of you ever spin silk.  All yarn will bloom a bit, others more then others, loads of factors in how much though, Alexus outlined them well. Spin style and finishing style are two and type of wool is a big one as well. even a worsted spun merino will bloom a bit, where as a liechester long wool spun the same way won't really.

50  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: How many ounces go in to the average skein? on: May 26, 2014 06:56:03 PM
This question is impossible to answer definitively.  Simply because 1oz of angora bunny is a lot more then 1 ounce of mohair.   It's one of those ton of bricks vs ton of feathers things. Add to that, that you can spin angora a lot finer then you can most mohair I've spun.  There are to many variables!
