BTW IF YOU ARE LOOKING LINDSEYCORE- CLOSE YOUR EYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ...unless of course you want to see what you are getting...
Everyones yarns look so yummy again this week! I can't wait until I learn how to spin my lincoln locks so they look like your Desire, Jazzturtle!
And those supercoils, pmpknpunk!! Man I need a class, those yarns make me drool...
Anyway, I made this for the above mentioned craftster in a personal exchange. Its self striping, as long she makes something relatively small, which she'll have to, because its only 100 yards. Also thats my label. I'll be using it on all my crafty goodness I hope to be selling at craft fairs and sales coming up in the fall.
and this is still on the bobbin, but it will be completely finished tonight:
So. I made this for a swap partner. I had this deck of cards for nearly 8 years trying to come up with the perfect thing to do with it, and then i got a swap partner who was an absolute perfect match for these. I found some free graphics online (where don't ask, cause I don't remember) added a tiny bit of color, and got to cutting, pasting, and pop-uping. This was the end result: (this is the 10th page but it gives the best thumbnail image )
Apparently I missed a pic of the first page. But it just had a quote on it. the one that starts with: "If I had a world of my own..." etc. etc...
OOOH Gorgeous yarns! Jazzturtle, that Lost yarn is wonderful! kathleenalice, that tequila sunrise,,mm I just want to drink it up! And MLF I can't believe you can get 6oz on a bobbin! I'm going to look harder at wheels next round and get me something that holds that much! woo! inle_rah, that blue is gorgeous!
This is the BFL roving i dyed at the beginning of the month. 3 pics of one yarn, the first omne is of the left over amount of single I have from plying it:
And heres pic 1of2 of the plied goodness:
and here's pic 2of2 of the plied goodness, just shows the different colors
and I have more, just need the sun to come out LOL. But who knows if my children will give me time to actually post it...
I recived two more today!!! Can't wait to see the last!
Gossamer_gull sent me this one:
She chose my girlyness and my like of fantasy books and mushed them together wonderfully!! I <3 it! the mark to the left is the bookmark, and the piece to the right is a card from the stationary on which she wrote her note, and I believe the envelope was also from the stationary set. Its pretty!
and Naggie Maggie sent me this one: side 'a'
I love the paper she choose, and you can't tell in the picture, But the centers of the flowers match up with the dots on the other side, and there is a green sheet of sheer paper between so if you hold it up to the light it looks neat!
this ones just small, but I'm going to keep making these as gifts using different herbs. and in different sizes. find herbs that match, maybe dried flower petals...... oooh the possibilities are endless!
I bought felting needles 3 months ago, always with the intention of using them. I was scared until laast night, when I was oh so terribly bored, and looking for something to do. I had made myself some felt balls in just plain white in the washing machine. earlier that day, with the intentions of giving them to my cat. But i had a tiny bit of left over roving from what I had spun and heard those needles calling out to me! This is what I came up with. I absolutely love them! with a quarter for size:
side by side: The middle one is supposed to look basket woven. it does not really, but i kinda like the weirdness of it anyway!
Happy kitty! no shes not for the cat. maybe my mom though
So, I was down at my sewing machine under the pretense of working on a swap. I was actually making my husband a bag for his drum sticks. The plan was to hang it on his drums and leave it there, but he walked in and wondered how it was going. I'm a terrible liar, so I told him what I was doing. He loves the finished product! and here it is for you to see:
I used an old pair of his cords to make it. or, well a small section of them anyway. I used the sewing machine and "free handed" the little drum set, just for fun.
I love the choice of ribbon. I'm not sure if it got humid somewhere in between, but the glue looks as though it turned blue I still like it though, and is coming handy to mark that giant book I'm reading! Thanks Spotnik!!
So My baby turned one a few days ago and I made him a stacking ring cake. Its no where near perfect. I should have stuck with marshmallow fondant, but of course i tried something new (white modeling chocolate rolled out into sheets like fondant and failed miserably) So seeing as I only had 2 hours to finish it, and thats not near enough time to make fondant, I just used buttercream frosting.
This is what I modeled it after (loosly). Its his fav toy. He'll spend hours palying with that thing!
This is the inside. I did have an extra white cake layer, that was green, but the green a)tasted horribly like food coloring and b) did not look right with the cake as a whole, so I took it off. Also the purple on top tasted like food coloring too, so for serving purposes it was removed. It was chocolate
And this was his reaction. Apparently we have never given him anything so sweet......
