1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Dance Mat Purse, now with a photo! on: July 30, 2011 06:34:34 PM
I posted earlier trying to get help in making this.  I got tired of waiting and just started going for it.  Figured there are millions of broken dance mats and I could get another one.   Grin

I am also too lazy after all this work to charge my camera battery so here is a mobile photo for now:

I put holes in the PS2 plug to make it a button.  It's almost too geeky to use.  ALMOST.   Wink
2  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / DDR Mat on: July 30, 2011 12:00:16 PM
Hey all.  I have been a LONG, LONG time lurker.

Recently I got my DDR mat out after a long time of no use only to find out the back arrow didn't work.  (Of course I replaced it ha!)  I would really like to turn the broken one into a cute little purse to really showcase my nerdom, but I am having trouble finding the perfect pattern with such little "fabric."

Has anyone attempted a project like this?

The purse I usually make is this:

So in short, I've never made a "stiff" purse and I'm terrified to start cutting the mat away with so little room for error.

Thanks Craftsters!!
