1  CLOTHING / Costumes: Discussion and Questions / Need patterns for a cosplay outfit on: June 14, 2011 11:15:45 AM
So my sister just got back from Texas and we are scrambling trying to get her costume made for this weekends comic and entertainment expo. She's dressing as the girl on the left from WOW.

I have never sewn anything like this before, I usually sew little people clothes or toys LOL so I am looking for any free patterns that could be used and altered for it before I go and buy one. I need a dress pattern and a separate underbust corset type pattern. The gold detail is going to be made out of foam. We have the material and string and lace already.

FYI she is a larger girl, with large breasts and hips and she is short lol. But I know this will look awesome. Any help would be appreciated thanks!
2  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Mario Swap? on: January 15, 2009 04:15:39 PM
I just bought new super mario bros fro DS and have just realised how much I miss the originals!!!
Would anyone be into doing this maybe in a month or two? I have a few ideas Smiley
3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Post card swap? on: November 26, 2008 05:19:55 PM
So I was thinking that it would be fun to do a postcard swap!! There's so many of us from all over the world that I think it would be a fantastic idea to receive a piece of someone elses city, heritage etc. I'm thinking maybe that we could do 4-5 partners each? Now I don't know if it's been done.. and I know it's not the most crafty thing.. but perhaps we could even make our own postcard if we want? What do you think?!
4  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Girls Camo Outfit on: November 25, 2008 05:22:55 PM
So I whipped this up for my daughter using the simplicity 3582 pattern. It was quite easy to make and i'm prety pleased with how it's turned out.

Here's the clothes laid out. The little vest is a bit big and makes her look like a little cave baby when she's wearing it lol

And my little model!

I can't wait to make some more!! There's also patterns for a litlte jacket and hat and sweater. I'll probably do those next week.
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / 30 inch busty doll WIP *warning theres boobs!* on: November 09, 2008 05:23:32 PM
SO I started this project about 3 days ago and have been working on it off and on. This is what I have so far.
Im not very pleased with the arms and hands I think they ruined the dolls look (beacause of my fabric and lack of finger turning experience). Also I sewed her head on  a bit too far to right so it's not sitting straight.
Im not sure yet If I want to just go ahead and keep them or make new ones without elbow joints.. I have just kind of roughed in her eyes with pencil but I think I will just use the iron on eyes and mouth. But i'm learning how to needle sculpt which is really neat!! I think this week i'll piddle around with the legs... also if I make another doll i'm going to get some smaller joints so her limbs can move. SO here she is! She's quite busty and hippy!

6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Discussion and Questions / what fabric is this? on: November 07, 2008 04:51:37 PM
OK so i'm going to attempt making this large 30 inch doll.. I have the cotton for the base of the doll but cannot figure out what the covering is. I know its not velour. I'd like to get started on this asap but I need to make sure I have all of the proper parts and fabrics..

8  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Little Scottie dress on: October 22, 2008 01:24:20 PM
I found this adroable fabric in the discount pile and I only bought 1 meter I wish I bought more now!!!
Here's a little dress I made for my baby girl. I didn't use a pattern or directions I just kind of traced around the dress where I got the idea from and this is what I got Grin I will post a pic of it off of her later she's wearing it and is having nap Smiley. But here are a couple with her wearing it. I also have a little sash to sew on and I will probably make her a matching headband and shoes Smiley And I sewed in the zipper wrong and will probably make an adjustment but for now i'm ok with the way it is!

9  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Birdy Bookmarks/Owl pillow on: October 21, 2008 01:03:44 PM
So my mom requested I make her some book marks because she doesn't have enough so I thought i'd make them with her parrots on them. She has a bird rescue and currently has 9 birds so i'm doing one book mark for each bird. I have 5 more to make!! Also here's an owl pillow I made for my mom (not my own design.robertkaufman.com)

Here's the four together

And here's the pillow!

And here's a shot of the pillow next to my sleping angel so you get an idea of how big it is!!

Thanks for looking Grin
10  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Singer is Jamming up on: October 21, 2008 10:37:26 AM
So i've got a singer simple machine and i've never had any problems with it. However i'm trying to do some sewing and my machine keeps jamming up. I've rethreaded it a couple of time and adjusted my thread tension and length but it's not helping. The top stitch is fine but it's the bottom thread that keeps jamming up and making a mess...what the heck could be doing this? Huh (must be my sewing machines way of telling me to do some housework lmao)
