1  Need patterns for a cosplay outfit in Costumes: Discussion and Questions by crafty_mommy on: June 14, 2011 11:15:45 AM
So my sister just got back from Texas and we are scrambling trying to get her costume made for this weekends comic and entertainment expo. She's dressing as the girl on the left from WOW.

I have never sewn anything like this before, I usually sew little people clothes or toys LOL so I am looking for any free patterns that could be used and altered for it before I go and buy one. I need a dress pattern and a separate underbust corset type pattern. The gold detail is going to be made out of foam. We have the material and string and lace already.

FYI she is a larger girl, with large breasts and hips and she is short lol. But I know this will look awesome. Any help would be appreciated thanks!

2  Re: Show me your sewing room setup! in Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions by crafty_mommy on: August 15, 2010 09:03:54 PM
I just love seeing other peoples sewing rooms/spaces!! I really like that table strawberryh! The only thing that would make it even better if you were able to store your machine inside it. I wish I had one of those!
So the first photo's are of my old craft room. It was unorganized/unpacked for almost a year because I was on best rest for my last pregnancy. It's also upstairs so I didn't use it much. Hubby needed a quiet work space to talk to clients so hemoved all his things up there about a month ago. I still have a lot to move downstairs into my new space!

My awesome shelf that hubby made about 1.5 year ago. I use it for buttons and storing patterns and ribbon.

One of my other shelves and closet. I miss the closet!

My new "space" in the nice cool basement! It's still messy though >_< The blue bins have my fabric in them but I will probably move it all to my black shelf once I get it moved.

A little nook that is finally serving a purpose! Luckily the shelves on the wall were in storage that we had found while cleaning (we rent the house)

If I can ever get my craft room completely moved and cleaned I'll post pics lol thanks for looking!

can I see pics anywhere?

Yeah for sure I just hope my partner doesn't lurk around too much Smiley
I tried to copy all of it so I bought 1/2 yeard of brown corduroy (sp?)
and wasn't able to find an adjustable strap so I just made one out of fabric.

I hope you don't mind me making one like yours. I just thought it was so cute and thought it would be a great swap gift. I was inspired Smiley But I won't be making anymore anytime soon that was alot of work I can only imagine how long it took you to make your pattern. Thanks again!

OK so I know my partner received and she's not posted in here at all and hasn't posted up the pics so I am just going to do it.
Most of the stuff I made was from her wists.
THe first one was inspired by her "fairy in a bottle" wist. I couldn't find a small fairy so I shoved in a little teddy bear.

The second is supposed to be an owl and squirrel lol.. the grey fabric is too dark.. still cute tho

The original idea was a heart. But all I could find were round balls. It was very time consuming so I only made one

Another wist.

Her original wist for this was a card turned into an ornament. I just embroidered it

Back

And lastly all the ornaments together

I hope that my partner likes them.I hope she will take a picture of them on her tree!

8  Girls Camo Outfit in Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects by crafty_mommy on: November 25, 2008 05:22:55 PM
So I whipped this up for my daughter using the simplicity 3582 pattern. It was quite easy to make and i'm prety pleased with how it's turned out.

Here's the clothes laid out. The little vest is a bit big and makes her look like a little cave baby when she's wearing it lol

And my little model!

I can't wait to make some more!! There's also patterns for a litlte jacket and hat and sweater. I'll probably do those next week.

9  30 inch busty doll WIP *warning theres boobs!* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by crafty_mommy on: November 09, 2008 05:23:32 PM
SO I started this project about 3 days ago and have been working on it off and on. This is what I have so far.
Im not very pleased with the arms and hands I think they ruined the dolls look (beacause of my fabric and lack of finger turning experience). Also I sewed her head on  a bit too far to right so it's not sitting straight.
Im not sure yet If I want to just go ahead and keep them or make new ones without elbow joints.. I have just kind of roughed in her eyes with pencil but I think I will just use the iron on eyes and mouth. But i'm learning how to needle sculpt which is really neat!! I think this week i'll piddle around with the legs... also if I make another doll i'm going to get some smaller joints so her limbs can move. SO here she is! She's quite busty and hippy!

Chevy is home!!! He got home yesterday and i've finally been able to post up some pics. It looks like he had a great time!
Here he is with all of the goodies he brought along. I love the cherry heads and postcards!

Here's chevy with an awesome soy candle and a magnet and pin. I'm not sure where i'm going to put the pin yet!

Here's two flags and the yummy candy and an adorable little stocking that chevy will use at xmas Smiley

Here's some pamphlets and postcards

and a cute page that i like!

Thank you for taking such good care of Chevy kiwidragons!! He had alot of fun and you were an awesome swap partner. I can't wait to do it again Smiley

Well Machida arrived today!! he's so darn cute!!! I was on my way to the mall so he got to come with us Smiley

he climbed on the wheel but I told him no he was not driving!!

Just to be safe I strapped him in!

My daughter giving him a snuggle while she has a snack Smiley

And after we went to visit my friend and her twin daughters. He was very happy to leave after this LOL

Here he is chillin' with a distant relative!

And lastly here Machida is taking a ride on the ark Cheesy

Nov.29
Machida was just chillin enjoying a nice piece of birthday cake

Here he is enjoying a nice bottle of cold and refreshing coors lite

And here he is Dec.1 after we decorated our bunk xmas tree

Cheesy I think hes having alot of fun! I still have to plan a day and take him downtown!!

So I had a horrible mishap with Machida. While we were at the mall on Friday to get santa pictures he decided that he wanted to run away Sad My hubby went back to look for him and went to the lost and found but did not find him... So I had talked with kiwidragons and explained the situation. We though it best to find a new friend. So while I was out today I found her a new friend that will be going home to her. Kiwi feel free to name the lad whatever you like Smiley Here he is!!

His arms/legs are adjustable

I know that it won't make what happened any better and I feel quite poopy about it.. but I hope you wil love this little guy as much as Machida.
