Congratulations! This has been chosen as a Featured Project!  Smiley

and thank you for the feature  Smiley

It was pretty cold, so I didn't get many photos with the frosty trees.

her mane looks a bit messy from this angle, but here is what the other side looks like.

35  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Appaloosa Unicorn on: January 04, 2015 03:22:34 AM

Hand sculpted from polymer clay and painted with acrylic paint. The hairs on the coat were meticulously painted one by one, they even follow natural hair growth patterns and swirls. No molds were used in the making of this sculpture nor were any made. The mane and tail are made from mohair.
She is 7 1/2 in tall at the highest point and about 6 1/2 in long.
I don't remember when I started painting her, but I have been working on painting her since before I finished the black unicorn foal I made in 2012, not to mention the time it took to sculpt her. To have worked on her for so long she was a real labor of love to create. I think that she is my favorite unicorn that I have sculpted so far. Cheesy

Lol she looks like a hair model in this photo  Grin

Her foal and another unicorn I sculpted

I am hoping that the frost sticks around until tomorrow, so that I can get some glittery, wintery pics of her outside.
36  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Re: Can you help identify this crafty medium? on: December 28, 2014 07:32:31 AM
Maybe it's a product called "friendly plastic". You when you warm it you can stamp or bend it, fuse it to other pieces of itself like glass, melt it down and mold it.

I have never looked for it in stores, but I have seen it for sale in many online stores.
37  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: hat a-long 14 in 2014 on: December 06, 2014 08:45:15 PM
I am a slow knitter, so I love how quick and easy this pattern was. Cheesy

The hat I made is a child sized. I plan on making more of these in various sizes for donation.

Here is the pattern http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/snappy-hat
38  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: More Galaxy Horse Necklaces on: November 16, 2014 01:07:28 AM
I love the way the mane is still white/clear even though the bodies are so beautifully bright.

The manes are actually painted silver
39  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / More Galaxy Horse Necklaces on: November 16, 2014 12:33:44 AM
These are molded from my original polymer clay horse head sculptures, and cast in jewelry resin.

I am experimenting with different techniques for marbling resin.
40  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Tiny Golfish on: November 11, 2014 02:38:40 AM
Sculpted from polymer clay and painted with acrylic paint, the fins are made from tissue paper. He is 1.5 cm long.

I plan on using this little guy in another project, so you may see him again soon  Wink
