Wow, that mountain broach looks great, what a neat effect! I can't seem to find the motivation I need, to finish my projects. I have finally picked this one up again, and I am slowly making progress on it. (It's the same one I posted on page 5, back in July) The eye is not quite finished, and I haven't painted the right eye yet. This is my first time, painting one of my unicorns white (all my others were gray), and I find it rather boring. I added hair texture to it, hoping that it would add a bit more visual interest, but I still find it boring . The next one will definitely, NOT be white, lol.

POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Unicorn Stallion

Nougatgee asked to see the unicorn in my avatar, so here he is He is sculpted from Super Sculpey, Super Sculpey Firm, and epoxy, over foil and wire. Painted with acrylic paint. His mane and beard are made from fox fur, and the hair on his hooves and tail, is Tibetan lamb wool. He’s about 8 in tall from hoof to the tip of the horn. Modeled after an Arabian horse, his coat is fleabitten gray. I don’t keep track of how long it takes to finish a sculpture, but it takes weeks and many hours of work. Basically I just keep working on them, until I am somewhat satisfied with how they look.

POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Goldfish Ornaments

My 2nd one. Its 2 3/4 in long. The fins aren't quite as yellow in person. I had planned on making it solid orange, but it had a few small dark specks imbedded in the clay, so I covered them with black paint . I keep it next to the fish tank, my goldfish seems to like it. I left it on my dresser after taking pictures of it and when I brought it back to put next to the tank my goldfish was really excited. This is my fist one. Its 2 in long. It kind of just happened, I didn't really know what to do with a piece of scrap wire and epoxy, but I covered it with some pearl clay and started sculpting. I was happily surprised when it turned out to be a portrait of my goldfish , though I am still a bit disappointed that the fins curled . Its still not finished, I haven’t sculpted the eyes or the mouth yet.

JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Re: my melted bottle beads

WOW. Those are so bright, I love the colours. Definitely the prettiest beads made this way that I've seen - I need to try this!
As for the beading elastic, it's tough stuff so pull the knot as tight as you can - literally until you think it's gonna break (it probably won't unless you are, like, the Incredible Hulk or something). Then stick a dot of Superglue or nail varnish on the knot to help hold it together. These will make some really pretty bracelets!
Thanks! I really like this. Any change you could use a toaster over to melt if you used a paper clip to hold together or something like that? I don't know, not something I would try. I used needle nose pliers and a candle, I kept rotating the plastic and tried not to get it too close to the flame. I love these! i feel inspired to try it myself. i have an embossing gun that gets pretty hot.. do you think that would work the same?
i love the colors yours turned out. Looks great!
Thanks . I imagine it would work, I have never used an embossing gun before tho.
