1  Re: Magic Yarn Ball Swap Round 10 in The Swap Gallery by mrs.zeddies on: April 18, 2009 07:25:24 PM
Oh my goodness imafundork!! I can't believe I got so confused! I'm going to find a knitting equivalent of that and send it to you. I'm so sorry.

It was a fabulous Saturday morning when I got this!

Mr. Zeddies and I unravled/rerolled the ball of yarn (a lovely LOVELY organic grey wool. It's crazy but I've never crocheted with natural fiber before, I have some cotton but I've never used it. I'm so stoked to try it!)

A group shot, here we have the yarn, about a million buttons beads and fabric baubles, two pins, a couple really awesome vintage bottle caps, a shell shaped cookie cutter, a flower barette, a lady bug barrett, a little gun bead, a zoo of brightly colored plastic animals, a cute little turtle (which Mr. Zeddies has laid claim to), A whole bunch of stickers, A SUPER adorable earring/bracelet set (wearing it now!), Two lip glosses, two eyeliners (which by the way is probably the best eyeliner I've used EVER mark. brand? ), two candles, a crochet hook, gator-egg gum, and best of all (something I've been wanting for AGES)

A HOOK ROLL! YAY!

Thank you so much imafundork! And I'm going to find that pattern in knit for you, I'm soo so sorry again!

I'll let you know if the original ever comes, But here it is! The LOVELY package from Frosty.

First:
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU I LOVE IT! (ew... i hate typing in caps but thats what i was squeeling when I opened it)

So here are some shameless photos for you:

First we have :
- a red drawstring bag (good for storing all kinds of little things in, I think I might use it for a mojo bag)
- a really cute decorated jar, I love to blend teas so I think I'm going to make myself a special feel good tea and put it in here
- a money spell! (who couldnt use one of these) It's actually in my wallet right now (I wish i'd put it in before I went into battle with the bank today...grr friday the 13th)

- Two, count'em TWO cute pents!
- The silver one is already on my altar, hanging out with Ganesha.
- I havent decided what the white one is yet, I think it's going to be green and brown and get hung over my front door.

- A super super cute purple purse with a subtle and totally cute triple moon emroidered on it! I'm actually using it already, It's coming to pagan class with me on Wednesday and I know my class mates are going to be SO jealous.

- A shot of the lining and also the cute little book mark that came with everything. I love bookmarks and actually collect them, but I dont think I mentioned that in my swap info did I? Weird!

So yeah, totally TOTALLY worth the wait. Smiley Thank you again Frosty, I love it.

5  2 Hour comfy skirt- Made to be extra roomy on a sz 14 in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by mrs.zeddies on: January 15, 2009 07:01:17 PM
Hello Ladies! (And gentlemen!) I'd like to show you my very excellent, nice and toasty 2 hour skirt. All you need to make this is a few yards of flannel (3 different prints) some ribbon and a very cold night in Pittsburgh!

You see, I have loads of super cute skirts for spring/summer. Unfortunately I do not have any for winter! And being bitter cold I needed a skirt to just, hang out in. I wanted something warm, soft and loose. So, here it is, my 2 hour comfy skirt!

Front View:

Side View (and Pocket):

Close Up, so you can see my super cute flannel!

I hope you like it! Smiley

6  Mala Beads, repaired and revamped! in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by mrs.zeddies on: January 11, 2009 08:44:25 PM
Hello Craftsters!

Almost three years ago a troop of tibetan monks came to my University Campus. They did many musical performances and spent most of their week at my campus working on beautiful sand mandalas. As part of the very small religious studies department I was lucky enough to get to spend some time with them, I was part of a number of large dinners and even had the opportunity to play basketball with them (by far, the most polite game of basketball I've ever been a part of). As part of their troop they sold Malas, made by themselves and their brothers back home. I bought a string of sandalwood mala beads that have not left my wrist since I bought them. They're like a security blanket for me, a meditation tool, basically just something that has become a part of me. A month ago, they broke. The beads scattered all over the sidewalk, I lost a number of them. So, I went out, bought a string of Moss Agate (one of my favorite semi-precious stones) a Lord Ganesha medallion (my patron god) and re-strung my beads. I can not tell you how relieved I am to have my beads back on my wrist. The number of beads I lost ended up working out perfectly so that I could still have a string of 108 and have even groups of sandalwood between my moss agate. I'm so stoked about how they turned out, I figured I'd share them with you!

Enough talk, here's the pics!

They wrap around my wrist 4 times

A close-up of my Ganesha medallion

I hope you like them!

Edit: Sorry the Photos are lack luster! >.<

Okay, I scoured my camera, and unfortunately I only have photos of one thing I sent to phildude  Cry

So lets see, I sent her 4 blends of tea, my Yule blend, two sicky teas and something else.... I cant remember! Also a steeping spoon, I use mine all the time!
I also crocheted a black and ribbon hat, for those chilly winter days!  An ABCs of paganism books, something like A- Athame, B- Beltane, C- Cerrunos... so on Smiley

And, Finally, my favorite! A Coexist cross stitch! (I framed it before I sent it)

I'm sorry I didnt have any other photos... I usually take pictures of everything I send Sad I just wish the postal service would hurry up with my package!

8  Coexist Cross Stitch (WARNING: SWAP PARTNER, image chubby) in Needlework: Completed Projects by mrs.zeddies on: December 10, 2008 08:45:12 PM

WARNING: No Peaking Phildude!!

Okay, so ladies, this is only my second cross stitch project, and it's the first pattern that I've designed myself. If anyone would like it I'd be happy to scan it and up load it. You may've seen the bumper sticker that I based this on. And, like any good religious studies/ craft geek I had to give it a shot. Well, without further adieu, here it is!

What do you think? (Please forgive the wrinkles, I havent taken any pictures of it now that it's been ironed and framed)

Detail shot

Finally a picture of the piece with a sharpie, for size comparison.

I'd really appreciate any feedback I can get, like I said it's only my second project... my first was from subversive cross stitch, and had been designed by some one who knows what they're doing.

Thank you for looking!
